Portugal's PM claims the country may close its Golden Visa to new applicants. Golden Visa applications will become much harder in 2023. But you still have time to apply. Contact us at help@nomadcapitalist.com and we will create for you a holistic plan B tailored specifically to your needs and will execute it from A to Z.

Great country but it's almost f*сking impossible to solve any issues with the immigration office. Also regarding banking - once you miss a compliance call from the bank your funds will get stuck for weeks (MilleniumBCP). If you get involved with the country be sure to have patience, and I am talking months of waiting for something simple to get resolved. Also note that there will be crypto taxes starting 2023. All decent properties, houses and villas with 3/5 build quality are worth 1.5m+

I loved this video with even more details as promised since Andrew's announcement. I believe the video could be more entertaining at the same time it has this great content value. Maybe having the team training more in front of the camera could make not only a great content video, but also entertaining as I enjoyed Andrew's laughs and stories from time to time. This has been amazing anyway and perfect timing since I'm considering Portugal for a nex move.

Er, I don't think Portugal is Europe 's oldest nation state. Hey, i like the place & one country I have ties with helped it beccome a country / nation. Really, I do hope due diligence is followed elsewhere just as carefully like Van Halen's rider.
@Mostspecialusername
@Mostspecialusername Жыл бұрын
we are. The modern concept of nation state implies a centralized authority with exclusive rights to impose certain powers. The creation and imposition of laws, taxation, currency, etc. Portugal was the first country where all these powers were the exclusive right of the sovereign. Other countries had feudal systems were those powers were spread over several institutions. Local nobles applied local laws and minted coins locally, the church had jurisdiction over certain aspects of societal norms (marriage and inheritance).

If you're talking about the D7 "passive income" visa, then you have to be in Portugal for six consecutive months, or eight months out of twelve. Note that you become a "tax resident" in Portugal after 182 days in the country in a year, but there is a tax treaty between Portugal and the United States so there's no double taxation.

@@mrsith1402 That would be for citizenship. The A2 level is high beginner. One of the sample questions I saw on the test at the A2 level involved reading an ad for an apartment rental and getting information about the apartment, such as how many bedrooms were in the unit and if there was an elevator in the building. It is estimated it would take about 300 hours of study assuming you didn't know any Portuguese beforehand to reach the A2 level. The Portuguese government offers free language classes to foreigners so they can learn.

It's simply incorrect: Portugal has some of the worst healthcare I have ever seen. They pay senior doctors a whopping €15 / hour as consultants. They don't take accountability whatsoever. When you escalate a complaint to the top - you get a standard letter stating the facts of your complaint and says it's down to a computer error that the people at the hospital take no accountability. I thought it was a joke, but got an identical letter the second time I complained. It's impossible when the hospital makes mistakes that could mean life or death to even speak to a manager/director at the hospital. A fluent bilingual translator could do nothing to help. The knowledge the doctors has was the way they operated in the medical industry in the 80's. I would not want to get sick in this country and will avoid Portuguese medical help at all costs. I rather travel to see a qualified person outside the country.
