Dude! I got hungry when I read the title and honesty was a little disappointed when there weren't any brats... 🌭 but still a cool video. I think it sounded good personally. 👍 Even the kick didn't sound bad for what it was. Love the banter at the end. Good stuff.

Your best video to date. Premium presentation. Funny - in the wurst kind of way. Coolest stick salute of the decade. Also lots of very useful audio comparison action. ...somebody said "lezz go"... We are complete.

Tell you what, sounded better than Glynn Johns' to my ears. Less of that old school arena rock feel. And at a third of the microphone costs, amazing. I'd be interested in comparing this four mic setup (kick/OH/Wurst) vs. one with a close micing technique (kick/OH/snare). SM57 is a very decent snare mic after all.

What kind of microphone stand are you using? Obviously there's a boom arm attached but what about the base and stand? Is that just a kick drum stand?

I’m not too sure, I haven’t found another of them in the wild. It’s got a 3 leg base but the base is about the same size as a round base stand then there’s a straight pole coming out of the middle of the base that’s adjustable up and down from maybe 16” or so and I put a boom top on that. Works great for getting a mic on a snare!

@@BlackBridgeSound Thank you for the prompt reply. I record rehearsals using a Zoom H5. I've been using a single overhead but too much cymbals. I've seen "low profile" mic stands. Gonna research further.

Did you have any phase issues?
@BlackBridgeSound8 ай бұрын
I didn’t adjust any positioning of any tracks to correct any phase issues that might be present. The two overheads are both positioned an equal distance from the snare with each other. The sm57 in the wurst position will pick up the sound slightly sooner because it’s much closer. You could micro adjust the tracks after they’re recorded and might get a slightly more in phase and cleaner sound but I’m not big on doing that since it wouldn’t have been an option for the big boys on tape anyways!

The amp itself is a little funky, you can actually hear it start to cut out in the section where j-roc is tone shaping unfortunately 😢
