But that doesn't kill the source of the dandruff which is usually caused by fungus (malassezia).

@@km6206 didn’t know you could get rid of a fungus by exfoliating the skin and using a moisturizing shampoo and hair products.

@@BeardsBladesandHairSure, exfoliation is one treatment. A lot of the dandruff shampoos use chemical exfoliants (like coal tar). But, you can also do mechanical exfoliation (that is, just scrub it off). You aren't going to remove all the fungus because it just grows naturally on your skin. About the moisturizing hair products, it could that they don't actually affect the fungus growth. It might just be the exfoliation that is effective. You have to do a mini experiment where you only do one each and then both together and compare it to doing nothing at all. If the moisturizers do help, then I would guess that maybe that are changing the skin environment so that it's harder for the fungus to grow. But, whatever the moisturizer chemicals do, they aren't as effective as antifungus chemicals since only the antifungal stuff is the recommended medical treatment. It seems the scientists don't actually know much about dandruff. There are many different species of fungus, and they are hard to grow in the lab. Mysteries everywhere, I guess.

@@km6206 I just did what you see in this video and it worked. I used to be a loyal head and shoulders guy. Don’t need it anymore!
