I've been noticing larvae above my pantry cabinets, I just closely inspected and threw out all contaminated and susceptible foods. Is it safe to keep any salvaged food? Also, will it be okay to store new dry foods in plastic containers with lids and keep the containers in the pantry? A lot of dry foods that I buy come in packages too large for the round glass jars. Thanks so much for the super informative video!

It is perfectly safe to salvage uncontaminated foods, or probably to eat contaminated foods (but these won't taste good). Airtight plastic containers are fine for storage. The key is that it's airtight! Best of luck!

Thank you for such thorough information! I do not use the microwave except to occasionally warm up a neck pad so I store dried fruits and notes in it and started to see a few moths flying out of it. I looked and saw an unopened container of dates with larvae. Should I throw the microwave out because I’m unable to get inside of the vents with cleaner, as I’d think that would be unsafe?

Can UV light bug zappers attract and kill meal moths? Scenario: if I install a bug zapper in my pantry, will it keep meal moth in check? Or is it a complete waste of time and money? I understand it won't target the larve problem though.

Light traps are not very effective for pantry moths and clothes moths because these insects are not light-attracted species. There are pheromone traps that will attract male moths, and while these can be used for monitoring, they will not keep the population in check. Finding and eliminating the source is the best option for long-term management.
