For anyone wondering you can just run from the battle with shaymin, run downward back to seabreak path and back up to shaymin and he will instantly respawn. Faster for you shiny hunters

You can use the surf glitch to get really out of bounds. I'm gonna push this game to its limits with this glitch to see if I find any way of getting Darkrai or Arceus (I highly doubt Arceus will even be possible since they stripped its code out of the game)

TIP: make sure to keep a repel active when you’re surf/flying on the bibarel! When you encounter a wild pkmn the bibarel you’re surfing with goes down a few levels. Hope this helped!

Some tips for this as I spent some time testing different things: 1. For some reason with both my joycons and my pro controller, any time I so much as lightly tapped the d-pad, I was dismounted from the Bibarel. I had to use the joystick and just take it slow. 2. Once you’re mounted, you can also just save the game periodically as you move so if you get dismounted you don’t have to do the fight again. I did move one tile off of Carl before doing this just in case though. 3. After you do the stairs/save part of the glitch and are in the air there are barriers/invisible walls all around that area, you have to pretty much take the exact path he does in the video once you are in the air until you’re across the barrier and into the water. 4. The path up to the island is slim and will dismount you and make you walk (or bike) your way up. You have to go straight north from where he shows in the video between those two rocks on Route 224. If you’re still swimming when you get to the dark part of the ocean, you missed the path - just go back and find it again. Once you’re on the path invisible walls won’t let you dismount, but you also can’t mount the path or actually dismount surfing onto the island from outside of it.

Kinda reminds me of the Surf Glitch from the Japanese version of Ruby and Sapphire. I find it funny how Platinum explicitly removed the event Pokémon from their locations and only made them appear unless it detects that you have the required event item in order to prevent situations exactly like this, but they didn't learn from their mistakes at all XD

Works as of 11/24/21, best part about this is that there is multiple save points so once you get past the first step of timing carl right and gently going up to the stairs, you can reset infinite times to try it

Pro tip: If you plan to shiny hunt Shaymin, you don't have to soft reset to reload it. You can just interact with it then run, bike down the Sea Breeze Path to reload the encounter, then interact with it again to see if it's shiny. It's faster than soft resetting. Just as a disclaimer though, you should probably save before interacting with it the first time anyway since I haven't seen what happens for myself. I only read this comment on another video but it had thousands of likes so I'm thinking it probably works. Good luck!

Hey, you can get this glitch to work after battling carl. There's also a psychic trainer that can trigger it going through the water route, but you need to be careful not to touch areas that'll block you like tree barriers.

@@chrissydag Sorry, it took me a while to respond. Okay, So it is still route 224. There's a side area through the grass before hitting the beach that leads to a few trainers, there's a way throughthe trees. You battle an ace trainer, I think before hitting the water. After follow the water up before hitting the land again save, just make sure you do because this one is easy to mess up, after that jump onto land and turn around and mash A as fast as you can. The trainer has a haunter and a medicham, after you beat them press A, if you did it right you'll get the prompt to surf. Basically after that it's the same, but you want to make it through the trees without hitting the invisible barriers because that will put you back on solid ground. And I wish I had recorded it or took pictures, but it was kind of trial and error thing because I also ended up battling Carl before.

@@frogmonger6916 no they can’t. That’s not how it works. The Pokémon you catch here, is the same exact “file” that will be the one with the event. The only difference being, they distribute an item which gives you access to the area we can get to here. We’re getting the same event Pokémon, just early. The item distributed only “unlocks” the area, which is already “in” the game. So no, they can’t tell you got it with glitches. This is 100% the same EXACT one you will get with the event. Also, meaning if you catch it now, it will not be there when you get the event item. You don’t understand how this works.

@@devinrobertson5251 But doesn’t the game save the encounter location and date whenever you catch a Pokémon? You can view that information in most games. If they do, it wouldn’t be hard to tell if you caught it before the event. Though, it might be a part of the save file rather than the Pokémon itself but they can still see that info when you transfer to home. I mean, those things are often lost when transferring between games, but I’m pretty sure the information is saved when you first catch it. And yes, I know that the Pokémon is the same one that will be in the event and I know how the event works. I was referring to the data created when you catch a Pokémon. Whether or not they’ll actually do anything about it is another story though.

Trying this, I've found you can get into a wild encounter and run away (at least in the patch of grass with the Dragon Tamer) and still be on Bibarel and it'll raise you one step as if you saved and reset in the stairs

excuse me, does this work on the 1.0.0 version? been trying it for hours and i want to know if it's a lost cause or if i just haven't got my timing down when it comes to battling with carl. i've managed to do some sort of variation where i surf on land before he starts the battle but after the encounter but if i move i get thrown off and i can't go through carl. and in the event i am able to move, it registers as /walking/ on air instead of surfing, so i can't go through other solid objects.

This still works and is super easy. You can adjust your height by saving more than once on the stairs at different levels. You dismount by pressing the c stick all the way in any direction.

Not sure if you’ve covered it yet but you can get mew and jirachi before the second gym badge all you need is a copy of let’s go pikachu or let’s go eevee for mew and a copy of sword or shield for jirachi then talk to the old couple at Floroma town and the women will give you mew and the man will give you jirachi

Arceus event is just ripped away on patch one But some people might be able to find darkrai using the new void glitch

You can do this WITHOUT beating the Elite 4. Use the surf glitch with another npc (little girl with pink tube, to the left of sunnyshore city or whatever it’s called), activate the surf glitch there and get to Flower Paradise.

I know I've commented this in your live stream and a lot of your other videos but I'm really waiting for the HGSS Randomizer Nuzlocke Kanto version. This reminds me of another video you made in which there was a glitch to walk on water as well as surf on land in the Gen 3 games. Also can this surf glitch be put to even more use? Quick question, what if they release Oak’s letter and then you go to back to seabreak path. Would that spawn another shaymin or would the spot where shaymin usually is be empty and you basically broke the game?

As they didn't bother to trigger Shaymin's appearance in conjunction with getting Oak's Letter (as they did in Platinum, I believe), it would be already gone once you reach the area legally.

Probably not because the event wasn't triggered. Only with oaks letter the event can be triggered. so maybe a new one will spawn after receiving oaks letter triggering the actual event.
