It's not that hard 😭 You just need to download the song files and put them in the right folder I think the WinRAR part may have tripped people up (he's just unzipping the file which is like 2 button clicks)

Just extract to the song folder. It'll create a folder with the same name as the zip file with the game files inside. No need to create the folders in advance or extract zip files individually... you can do a bunch of zip extractions at the same time just by directing it to the song folder.

There's a file that you can open up that tells you not to add songs onto the songs folder. Make your own folder and go into the settings tab in game, and create your own songs path. Be sure to scan the folders so the songs get added into the game

Fiddliest method possible. You should download the folder instead of dragging a box around the files on google. Then you'll have a zip file with a correctly named folder which the files are in. Then all you need to do is drag and drop...

Adding custom songs is literally the most unnecessarily hardest thing to do with this game. After downloading I can never properly select any of the files in a google drive and save it to the song folder so I just wasted so much time.

Yea everything but the game is saved onto an external hard drive just so it doesn't take up space as you can have thousands of songs on clone hero. Hope this helps

Is everything track you download on expert difficulty? I download an "apprentice" ttack and it still said expert when I went to play it. Im just starting so dont want anything harder than medium at the moment. I figured there'd be all the difficulties for each song I download.

Sadly it all depends on the creator who has made the tracks some make all difficulties other just do expert. Thats what I've found anyway very similar with the lyrics

I started downloading all the individual tracks I wanted and yeah they were all on expert. So I then decided to just download the monthly packs and voilà they had all the difficulties. Although I might not get the individual tracks I want, the playlists are full of amazing songs new and old so I'm just going to keep downloading the packs and learn to get good enough for expert......one day. I appreciate you getting back to me and thank you for the tutorial, without it I'd be completely lost and still playing the same few GH games on Xbox. 👳🏾‍♂️🫶🏽

If I was you I'd reinstall the game and rebuild your paths from there. I had an older build that did this exact thing and it was because I'd downloaded the wrong version of the game. Not saying 100% it will work for you as it did me but its worth the try.

So you can't just download them straight from the song website you NEED to extract them to the song folder. If win raw isn't free try 7zip there's alot of free alternatives just poo it into Google and find one 😁

Several old songs, like from the first few guitar heroes, have the drums and/or other instruments that come in at the wrong time, or they just sound weird. most notably in Yellow by Coldplay, One by Metallica, and Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. Have you looked at the chorus website. Follow the link provided in the description search trooper and it comes up straight away. Its very simple to get clone hero working in my opinion especially just adding songs. Hope this helps

You can even download sabers and walls and blocks from within the game. And even avatars. Any asset really. I've wanted to revisit clone hero after playing the Fortnite Festival, and since you replied to my comment, I think I'm gonna try getting custom songs again. Thank you bro.

Make sure your downloading the mac version of the game. On an old build I had a friend who used a mac and we found out that it's a completely different download. Try that.

you have to go to the change difficulty option say if you were playing a song on easy and go to another song with for example only extreme difficulty it would say no part because it cant load easy mode into a song that doesnt have easy mode hope that helped

I'd recommend downloading C3Con tools which allows you yo transfer old GH files into clone hero files ive done it on alot of my old tracks but not all of them went over. I'd highly recommend playing Rock smith either way but both are fantastic games
