How to Get Started with Your Oscilloscope

When you have been tinkering with electronics for a while and your projects are getting more serious, chances are that you will need an oscilloscope. An oscilloscope is an instrument that displays the evolution of one or more voltages over time. Of course, you already invested in a multimeter, which is great, but an oscilloscope can do things you cannot do with a multimeter. However, oscilloscopes are also much more complex instruments than multimeters and so it takes some time and practice to get the most out of them. This video shows you how to get started with your oscilloscope.

Nice! I hope you plan to build these concepts into a series. For example noise on a DC voltage, safely examining ac line voltage, anything Arduino/RPi related (RS232, I2C, D/A, etc.)

Nice and interesting video. at 0.56 you said you purchased the oscilloscope shown in your video for about 100€ - already a few years ago. Electronic gadget prices normally tend to drop over the years. I looked for this ATTEN ADS 1022C on the Internet (in April 2022) and the cheapest price I could find was 295€. That is almost factor three!. Would you mind sharing the source where you purchased your ATTEN ADS 1022C, please? Thanks. Price up to 50% more than 100€ would be perfectly acceptable.

Very cool! I'm a former specialist telecommunications technician and i can say that oscilloscopes aren't for common people's without technic or engineering formation! They certainly are not usable for non technicians and engineers, or physicists!

Yes, you need the will to learn how to use an oscilloscope in order to use it correctly, and electronics and RF knowledge definitely don't hurt either. ("Know what you are trying to measure.") But I am happy that an electronics hobbyist now can afford a (low-end) oscilloscope, look at a signal, and get some help finding problems in a circuit.
