“I know it’s probably complicated because you guys are retarded” 😆 Makes perfect sense even for a spectator like myself and works in line with Devon’s advice of not “holding on” to your opponent.
@White.W0lfz
@White.W0lfz Жыл бұрын
🐺🐺🐺 TBH #Z's... this is also the main tenant of Chinese martial arts especially tui shou... (pushing hands)... do not attempt to hold onto your opponent... the second you do this... they "have you"! Even chin na (capture/counter capture) does not embrace holding onto opponents... it appears as if these joint locking techniques are holds... but they are not. You are "captured" (painfully) but your opponent is "un-capturable". Both Travis and Devon have a unique understanding of this... it really isn't rocket science... but it is counter intuitive.

@@White.W0lfzjoint twisting techniques are holds indeed, if I got you into an armlock i am tecnically holding to you but i am also holding you. And holding you with an undeniable advantage and the possibility to strike. In arm wrestling someone is holding on to someone only when they are weaker in strenght or in a weaker position, in fact the opponent "makes you" hold on. Also, many forms of grappling call their techniques joint holds. The holding on similitude is appliable and valid, in my humble opinion, only to the throwing part of the grappling or fighting styles where the dinamics are more like the armsport ones(strenght/position/technique).🤙

Travis keeps a wrist strong by using height with arm 90 degree up so other arm wrestlers cannot cup. Old Devon and Evegny over suppinate with hand in uppercut position. Devon and John and Denis use the thumb pronator to help cup and keep wrists.

I know Travis is a way better armwreslter then me, but I feel like there is always going to be pressure in your fingers in a match. You cant really false grip somebody’s hand. You have to start with your wrist straight and the pressure will be in your fingers. Maybe this is your way of saying don’t hold on to your opponent, and just be past them using your wrist.

Why don't you make your own arm wrestling videos? You obviously know more than a world champion
@derbycityarmwrestling7300
@derbycityarmwrestling7300 Жыл бұрын
Well it's all about where you put the pressure on your opponent. You don't have to consent to applying your own finger pressure. You can fight palm to palm, or take that meat on the back of the hand and apply it into your opponent's fingertips. If your opponent doesn't apply any finger pressure either, you will slip. You can always roll out of any finger pressure you feel you're forced to do by applying pressure into your opponent's fingertips while pronating out.
