Hi all! Thanks for watching this week’s video, I really appreciate your support. What was your BIGGEST “take away” after watching? 👨🏻🙏🏻🫧
@raffaellaricciardi85177 ай бұрын
My take away is that I'll try washing gently and twice, to see what happens. I'm also intrigued by "detoxifying" my hair, I use box dye, I only retouch my growth so I don't think I have many layers of dye, but who knows if it can be useful maybe once a month to help remove metals or other materials? I have fine, thin curly hair, any help to avoid build-up looks useful.

going to try out the drying hands first before shampoo tip! and double shampooing has really helped my hair stay clean and fresh for longer. while washing my hair fewer times a week than what i used to, at times. also bought a wet brush on your advice last week and i love it!! and a video on how to get the best in each step of your routine would be fab. ie how to get the best out of your conditioner, hair masks, leave-in conditioners etc etc.

Great video! Maybe you could continue the 'Best of' series by talking about the best products (in your opinion) are of certain brands. Each video could focus on a different brand, e.g., Aveda, Redken, Moroccan Oil, etc. I would love for you to start with Aveda if you do 😀
@theworldofcraig6 ай бұрын
Thank you! Hmmm, I’m not sure I could spend the time (and buy) it would need to get to know a line to do it justice…and it might surprise you to know that brands very often don’t even acknowledge the content with a “thanks”, so it’s tricky. Aveda has changed so much since I used it and from what I know most of their iconic products have been discontinued, it’s not done well over the last few years.

I do know from past experiences with hair color, any product ( I’m in the USA ) that has sodium laureth sulfate in it will strip your new hair color. It will fade a black hair color and strip any vivid colors in patches. You can find this ingredient in a LOT of shampoos, it does not matter if it says “ for color treated “ hair or not, read the ingredients list before you buy it.
@theworldofcraig6 ай бұрын
There’s no clinical data to suggest that SLS strips colour from the hair. Sodium Chloride, (salt) a common thickener/stabiliser can strip hair colour. I have a video on “clean” formulas, which goes through SLS.

I'd love to hear your opinion on "repairing" treatments: in my experience, if hair is REALLY damaged, they cannot do any miracle, but... where is the threshold? When can we say that there's no need to spend a lot of money on (for example) Olaplex and we can only cut or bear horrible lenghts and wait until hair grows? Thanks ❤
@theworldofcraig7 ай бұрын
So there’s an entire playlist on here with my go-to hair repair - K18. I 100% believe that hair can be repaired, to what extent depends on what you’re using. That said, nothing is a miracle, if hair is degraded to the point of no return, nothing is going to help.

@@theworldofcraig Thank you, I'll have a look at K18, I cut most of my damaged hair, and hope I'll be able to save some centimeters which don't hold the dye because they're very damaged. Thanks ❤️

What an interesting and fun educational video. I recently understood that, I’m one of the customers that doesn’t suite the typical recommendations on fine hair product as my hair need hydration and my scalp is sensitive,my hair was always greasy by day 2/3 and scalp was dry, understandably so when washed that often. I was wondering exactly that, if the reason why I now in summer and winter find the perfect shampoo has to do with the ingredients and you just confirmed all that. I get lots of compliments on my hair quality because I follow the recommendations you shared here, and I hope more people benefit from your tutorials here, I really appreciated it. The non rubbing towel trick is so important and helpful. You really are a good teacher. I’d be glad to see videos on maybe recommendations on leave in conditioner what kind of ingredients might be good and what to consider for heat protection products for hair for instance, maybe also hair oils that are recommendable 🌺, thanks Craig!

I don't know how I missed this surprising video. So much on simple (?!) shampooing! When I was a kid the bottles always said rinse &repeat. I only shampoo once as a rule. I would be afraid twice would strip my toner. I had no idea about the dry hands thing, very interesting. Also, I heard that if your shampoo doesn't lather enough to use flat hands ( I think that worked actually) ! So, you never mentioned follow with conditioner..in what world!??:) Do people (esp w longer hair) actually forgo the conditioner? That is like a full face of makeup with no mascara LOL..or in my case, concealer:) Thank you Craig!

Hello and thank you for another great video stuffed with knowledge. I have a question: can I use cleansing shampoo for the 1st wash and different one for the 2nd wash or should I stick to the same one? Also, what I realised is that if I'm dehydrated, even slightly, my skin and scalp are more oily, meaning if I want to keep my hair look and feel fresh for longer, I have to remember about my water intake. Is it normal for everyone, or is it just me being perimenopausal?
@theworldofcraig6 ай бұрын
Hi there, you’re most welcome, thanks for watching. You can mix and match your first and second shampoo for sure, that’s a great idea…I often do that in the salon with clients. It could be SO many different factors making your scalp oily but hydration could play a part. Hard for me to give you a finite answer on that one.

Hi Carmen, thanks for watching, you’re most welcome! So as I mention in the video, it’s incredibly hard to recommend specifics - I have clients with fine hair that use a shampoo for thick textured hair and LOVE it. That said, I would suggest a strengthening shampoo for finer textured hair, it could also add volume. For the thicker hair I generally advise trying something with dimethicone, as I mentioned in the beginning of the video. 👨🏻🙏🏻🫧
