Three helpful tips I learned from other resources: 1: Bend your neck and let water flow from the back of head instead of front, as frontal hair is more fragile and prone to breakage. 2: Conditioner should only be applied on top half of hair, not on the scalp. Short hair doesn’t need as much conditioning as long hair. 3: Use sulfate-free shampoos

First tip is true also because hot water dries out your face, which is bad in general but worse if you have a skin condition like acne, since your body will think your face is super dry and start producing sebum like crazy, which will make your acne worse

Impossible for me to use sulfate free shampoos. I get severe psoriasis dandruff on my scalp and eyebrows since puberty, and in 15 years of trying everything, the only thing consistently suppressing it is to use the most powerful, medical sulfate shampoo possible at least once a week.

"I was what they call an assistant."... LOL I assisted it for 12 months and it was invaluable experience.. Even to this day, my cients love my shampoos and my 7 min scalp massages that make them PUTTY in my hands. A great shampoo experience is part of the service. Get in there and gently scrub. I hate getting "half-assed" shampoos, and that's all I ever get when I visit other salons. Someone gifted me a high-end blow out at a salon on Santa Monica Blvd about ten years ago, and jt was.a Japanese salon. There was a fully reclining hampoo BED. The guy scrubbed my head so magically, really sudsing up. It fekt amazing. White he massaged my head some other person massaged my FEET! OMG. It was heaven Oh, anf my hands were dipped in paraffin. No wonder it was a $150 service. I was unable to make a coherent sentence because I was so relaxed.

I just had a stem cell transplant from cancer, Myelofibrosis. I had a week of chemo first and I lost all of my hair. I had great colored blonde hair, thick for all the color I used for over thirty years, I had great hair. I only washed it two to three times a week and I would condition my hair while in the pool (never putting my hair in the chemicals) after an hour or two I would rinse with cold water from the hose. Never took a hot shower always a cool shower. When I lost my hair from the transplant (p.s. I'm cured from my cancer from my 20 year old donor). Now my hair is growing, but the top of my hair is growing thick straight up, kinda looks like a guy's DA from the 80's. The sides are straight and I brush it down (so it's straight, I always had straight hair), why isn't the top of my hair starting to fall over down on the sides. How do I train it to grow down? When I try to brush down it's pretty short and naturally seems like it wants to go straight up and I hate that. I do put hair thickening products in it and massage it into the scalp area. My transplant drs won't let me color it. I get it done at the saline first with bleach, then with highlights (blonde), them I would get lowlights (blonde on blonde, all blonde) and a glaze and a good haircut to make it healthy. My transplant dr said no to dying it yet until I get all my immunizations shots which will be in May (my one year). Some people do it anyway, buy I'll wait till May 2024. Do you know why the top of my hair won't grow downwards to give it length? Thank you so much! A great fan of yours! Stacey H. Long Beach, NY❤

I have long, thick hair (like well past shoulders), and I find there is often not much suds. Does that mean I need to do "two coats" or just use more? I typically use about a quarter size amount of shampoo. I also find it a lot less sudsy in the back and to a lesser extent on the sides. How much suds do you need to know the shampoo is working? Also, how long should you leave the conditioner in for?

I have the problem that I literally can't manage to fully wash out the shampoo. I don't know why... Asked my hairdresser and she looked at me like im too stupid to wash my hair. I'm probably the only person with that problem. I apply the tiniest amount to the top of my head (literally pea-sized) and rinse for 30 - 45 mins. This shit sticks to my hair like mad, I don't why. I rinse and rinse and the bubbles keep coming even though I applied such a tiny amount. Even have to use my comb to separate the strands. At one point I just give up due to neck and arm pain from holding the damn hose. After its half-dry I really notice how hard and sticky my hair still is, it's disgusting. The left-over shampoo smells so rank after a few days... I use highly concentrated shampoo from the salon, everything else destroys my hair due to cheap and damaging ingredients. I have now filled the bottle with water and it seems to work better. Not fully, but it's much less uncomfortable and disgusting. I also use a deep cleansing shampoo every second wash so the shit doesn't build up over the weeks. My hair is incredibly thin and a massive bitch, it doesn't take any other products. I also struggle with incredibly hard dandruff (the shit that really sticks to your scalp and is itchy as fuck), but that shit comes and goes, nothing I can do about it.

@maancrusader You could always shave the underneath part of your hair. I used to have super thick hair down to my butt, but shaving the underneath made it a bit more manageable. It's also not noticeable unless you try to put it up in a way it will be. I've cut my hair to above my shoulders since then, but if I decided to keep my long hair, I would keep shaving. Layering can also kind of help, but it makes putting up your hair a pain.

@@KnettiOnSpotify wash your hair every 2 weeks??? Bruh, that’s terrible for your scalp. Wash it 2-3 or everyday if u want. Also… it’s fine to use sea salt spray but not too much because it’ll dry your hair out. Blow dry every single day????, that is terrible for your hair. You should at least use heat protectants, hair serum/oils, and hair masks to help prevent heat damage. And don’t do it every single day, try to go as long as u can. If you can’t, do it 1-2 times a week and keep the hair dryer 6-7 inches away from ur hair and don’t use a high heat setting. You should also be waiting for ur hair to dry up to 70-80% to spend less time under the hair dryer. You can do your research on how to prevent heat damage and boost volume, all that. Are you experiencing breakage at all?
