So Here's I how did the 2nd jump in the sequence break. Basically once you slide you have to tap the B button as soon you get towards the edge @ the end of your slide while hold the analog stick to the right.. It's not as difficult as it seems.. It's all about hitting that jump as soon as you reach the edge from the slide then boom

@@weedynaruto1234 yeah I died twice then noticed why I kept coming up short then realized if I hit the jump right away instead of right after I slid then it would push me off the edge a little bit further where it would allow me to bounce in the air & grab on the ledge

I have a weird relationship with difficult platforming... it took me like 15 attempts to succeed at the first jump, and then I cleared the second one on my first try. Anyway, thanks for the tips. Kraid's attacks actually hurt in Hard mode, so I figured I'd try the quick kill for my first Hard playthrough.

@@metalguy9914 I wish I could say my natural skills and intelligence got something to do with it, but it really doesn't. I simply grew up with 2D platformers as a kid and played them a ton, so all this experience compensates for my natural lack of skills. lol If you have a ton of patience and a lot of love for the game, I'm sure you'll pull it off too eventually. However, don't force yourself if it makes the game not fun for you, of course.

I got really lucky that one try, I was not able to replicate it.

Finally got this. 1st jump is not too bad. The second one sucks. On the second jump after you slide through the hole there will be a split second pause before you fall. Jump right when you feel that slight pause. You have to fully commit to sliding all the way through the hole too or its over.

That's honestly a little unclear, IMO. I did the sequence break, but you still have to go into the general area of the grapple beam and bombs when you go after the EMMI, so I really can't say. I think it allows you to skip some stuff, though.

@@SweetJohnnyCage it seems like it's only really useful for skipping diffusion and getting both flash shift and scan pulse early, but unless I'm missing something that's all you can do before needing to go back to get diffusion from Kraid so that you can kill the yellow emmi for speedbooster and continue sequence breaking. I know some people have found ways to blow up blocks in the wall without diffusion so if it's applicable there then Kraid would be totally skippable I think

So a little trick to help you get through this if you're new, is to use the EMMI door invincibility glitch. Use the EMMI door that isn't too far from this area and then come back here to do the jump. This way if you're consistently failing to get over, you won't have to keep dying to redo it.

Thanks for the guide, it took me a tonne of tries but I finally managed to get the grapple beam, that should hopefully make my life easier with this game. I still have to defeat Kraid, but I have three bars of health and 55 rockets so I may give it a go fighting him with that.

I don’t get it, how did you get in the dairon save spot without killing kraid? There’s no way, the only way to get where you started the video needs speed booster, and to get speed booster you need to kill the yellow emmi, but to be able to kill the yellow emmi, you need to kill kraid to unlock the purple teleporter there, but then the whole just is broken because you already killed kraid, so please someone tell me or help me get to where he started the video without killing kraid. @@jessopjessopjessop860 pretty sure you do, I was being dumb, not realizing the term early means asap, rather than just earlier than intended. I got bombs before kraid, but after getting the varia suit. Getting bombs before varia is not something I intend to try. Anyway, at this point most any% speed runners don't get it because it's actually slower. They do get early grapple using this strat though. I've been able to pull it off without flash shift, but it took many attempts. Luckily, you can fail and kick off of the slope to get back up without falling into the lava.

I would hope that you've gotten it after a month. But if not(or for anyone else reading this) you only get one shot at the jump, if you press it too soon it won't accept another jump input(so you can't spam the button) until you hit the lava and then you're done for. Just continue to hold right the whole time you are sliding and until you get to the ledge, you HAVE TO wait for the first couple animations of the fall, THEN hit jump.

Once you see her kind of get out of that second hole, press the jump button and then hold right so you grab onto the ledge. If you miss it and hit the slope you can still jump off the slope and the position yourself in the second jump spot

Not really, Metroid Zero Mission has some incredible, intended sequence breaks you have to do to finish with under 15%. And I mean intended as there is a special ending scene you get when you complete the game under those conditions. I guess us "old school" guys have to realize that sequence breaking is just part of metroidvanias now.

But in the case of the Zero Mission special ending: it seems to me that it doesn't matter which sequence break you use as long as you find a way to get less items that you normally could. That sounds like the developers are still leaving things open for the players to choose how they do it. Come to think of it, perhaps the sequence break for getting bombs at Kraid in Dread is also open. Here's hoping to alternative possibilities and interpretations!

There’s also an easier way for those like me who is lazy on the second sequence that you have to attempt instead of using the jump method if you had the flash shift you can use that when you initially start falling after you slide. I might confuse someone because idk how to word it so
