Make a part 2 to this, but blindfolded. It might even be a good thumbnail.

My general rule is that if it’s a complex, proprietary recipe, like Oreos, name brand is typically better than generic. Things that are simple, like peanut butter and OJ, are usually the same. Not always, but it’s still always worth trying cheaper alternatives in case you like them. Great episode 👏🏻

Please do a video on trader joes compared to whole foods. I always wondered if the quality is better in either places
@kindgritbooks952 жыл бұрын
Haha I love the comparison. Always do the comparison yourself instead of going after the name brand so that you’re paying for value instead of brand name:)

There’s no substitute for real Oreos.

Rachel, can you do a video about all your inexpensive jewelry/fashion and where you can get them. I think you said you got a lot from Amazon. I LOVE your earrings in this video :-)

Thanks Rachel! This video is great and spurs me on to try more GV items.

I don’t know if it’s on KZbin, or some other streaming service, but if you can find it, I recommend you watch, “How To Eat Well For Less.” Either the UK or NZ version is good. It really shows that even people who are adamant they know and only love their brand, can rarely tell whether something is their brand or not when there’s no label.

😂 your reaction to the great value orange juice was my reaction to the great value mini frozen pizzas. 💕 Love this!

Newman O’s, 365 Brand, and Trader Joe’s have amazing cookies. This is great. Please do Sam’s Club vs Brands. Costco Vs. Brands.

Love these types of videos (the Aldi one was great even though I’ve never shopped there)! More please! Generics have come a long way. 2 (non-food) items I struggle with are toilet paper & paper towels- cheap ones just seem so different in quality….

Try Costco brand for paper towels and toilet paper, amazing quality

@@JS-qx1jo thank you! I was talking about joining Costco recently. Maybe this will be that extra “something” that will motivate me to finally do it.

If you want to compare value try Aldi! They have great stuff too.

I had to pause on the first item - my son, 17, prefers the Great Value Hint of Lime tortilla chips for his salsa. And I buy the great big jug of Pace at Grocery Outlet for like $4.

Retailers are NOT manufacturers. In many cases, store brand products are made by name brand manufacturers. Example: CVS batteries are made for them by one of the best-known big names in batteries. There literally is no difference.

One thing that does have a substantial difference is ketchup. Heinz is that classic ketchup taste, whereas Hunt’s or store brand is slightly different. But I’m a ketchup connoisseur.

I know some items from the wholesale clubs are a cheaper buy than the traditional store, but sometimes I am just not sure. Would love to see a video of which things are better to get from where! Also, would love to know your thoughts on Good Ranchers; my initial research it seemed like a REALLY good deal and I was very skeptical.
