Just came across this cool video! One of my all time favorite sounds. I used to get this great tone out of my old Super Reverb, unfortunately it disappeared. I now use a Mesa Boogie Lonestar Classic which I love. By the way, my Stepdad was a guitarist name Billy Strange who played many of these old great songs including Bang Bang with Nancy Sinatra. This video reminded me of him, thanks for that!!! Keep them coming!

Great tone and playing, very well explained. I was looking for a good spring reverb for a long time but didn't have the money and space for the surfy industries tank or a twin reverb so I settled for the source audio true spring and it works very well, very tweakable drippy reverb and tremolo. Para o meu gosto, demasiado efeito. o trémulo devia ser mais lento e subtil e o pedal sem ser o de reverb estava completamente exagerado, tornou o som muito artificial. Some corrections needed. Morricone composed the soundtracks for the most famous spaghetti westerns, not ALL. There were other notable composers that followed his lead. I own most of the spaghetti western soundtracks and I have never heard tremolo, nor the massive amount of surfy spring reverb in these examples. I’m not really sure why so many people seem to think those effects are used this way in the soundtracks.

It'd be more fair to say "no compression vs yes compression" (without specifying the pedal or multi-fx board). Blossom Point by Surfy is just 1 of the 100 compression pedals and fx boards that could do that exact same job, as well as the BP. No need to specify the brand, because that is just feeding the FOMO of beginner guitarists for marketing purposes.
@BuddaGuedes
@BuddaGuedes Жыл бұрын
I don’t actually agree with it because every piece of gear has its own character and specification. It has a family but not every compressor is the same
@andythefrenchy8026
@andythefrenchy8026 Жыл бұрын
@@BuddaGuedes A piece of gear is only worth buying if it creates a tone unique enough to be recognized in blind test. Do you really think this pedal will stand out in blind test in the middle of 10 other compressor pedals, or even worse: in the middle of a $200 fx processor that can mimic it to perfection any pedal after a bit of knob-turning? The only point to still buy individual pedals is just to be vintage feeling.... the human hear cannot distinguish at all between pedals or electronic effect processing... this is the same debate as LPs vs CDs... despite it has been scientifically proven that the only difference the human ears can hear is the crackling of dust on the LPs... same with pedal: a mix of tech-adverse guitarist and brands who still need to moneytize $150 per pedals... In any cases, 'Blossom Point' is just just a trademark of a compressor pedal tone marketed by a brand called Surfy. 'Blossom Point' is not a tone in itself. Also, for accuracy, Morricone is the composer/orchestra director, but the sounds is by Alessandro Alessandroni (Morricone's guitarist), who only used reverb on a fender amp, and occasionally a fuzz of an undisclosed brand. Also sometimes a baritone guitar. No tremolo. But that's it. No sparkle and expensive whistles to make great tones. Your tone and vid are nice, but I'm sorry to say, not accurate to the movies's tones. The later, there have been various brands willing to moneytize that tone, with a Ennio pedal, a 200lbs of Gold pedal, but that's all money BS. Let's not feed the $hark$, not even when one receives freebies!
@BuddaGuedes
@BuddaGuedes Жыл бұрын
First of all I’m not trying to get a job in Morricone’s orchestra. Our ears are just a part of the experience. The feel when you play, the confidence you get with certain gear, the looks of the gear etc. All that counts to me. But you can get great tones with lots of other gear including multi Fx. Whatever works for you is great. There’s people that don’t even use pedals. Don’t forget that the recording has compression and we’re aiming for recorded tones and not for the tones the players where using. The video is just meant to inspire people to play in that direction and get different sounds!
@andythefrenchy8026
@andythefrenchy8026 Жыл бұрын
@@BuddaGuedes you can get those same tones with a multi fx. That was my point. As for confidence... I'm not sure why a great player should need a specific pedal to feel confident. I’m just saying gear is more than sound. It’s also feel and mojo. There’s a reason why some gear is more common than other. The Surfybear is my favorite reverb and I own a lot, including amp reverb on twin reverb, blues junior, deluxe reverb, etc. I also have the HX EFFECTS and the reverb works but doesn’t have that mojo. In my opinion, the rule is whatever inspires you is the right option. Some people like to go straight to the amp to feel inspired and have nothing between guitar in the amp. Others need a lot of effects to keep them inspired. I am in the middle, depending on when I’m playing I’ll either use effects or go straight to the amp. I’m not trying to sell anything. I’m just showing you that might inspire others as a did to me
