Markus, I love what you teach and how you teach it. Honestly, if you had a certification program, I’d take your class. I feel like I’ve really gotten your style of swing down, and I’d love to be able to teach it to others. I have taught the basic idea to others and have had some great results. You’re one hell of an instructor…and you bring in some great philosophy along with your instruction. Appreciate you.

Don't worry about me spilling the beer Marcus! After hitting those sweet baby draws you taught me last year I make it mandatory to finish high and out and hold the club on my shoulder while I watch the ball land. Joe in N. W. PA

FYI, I pulled with my lead arm for years before seeing your videos. For me it was a sense of accuracy by sending the forward arm, with force, to the target. I knew my back arm, the right, was more powerful and faster but always worried it was inaccurate and wild and I realize that was limited thinking. Now I need to work on my back/right arm taking control of the speed.

The finish is just as important as the backswing and you did a great job with the visual to demonstrate the finish I’ve found for me by using the training technique of putting a golf tee into the butt of my club and during the whole swing keeping it on the target line or looking at it and my target at my finish That intended move creates enough momentum to finish and not stop my follow through Tee to green for practice and Beer for my reward…what works is what works 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

My tee would not be pointing at the target line but like I always say. Keep it if it works. 😊

Hi Marcus. I wonder if you could do a video on what to do with your knees during the swing. I recently started focusing on bending the lead knee during the backswing because I noticed all the tour players do this. For the first time in my life I'm hitting straight drives consistently. Bending the lead knee allows me to rotate back correctly while keeping my head over the ball. It's like magic. Everything just seems to go right. And I'm getting almost effortless power. I think the knees are crucial for the proper motion of the whole body. And I'd like to know what your thoughts are on it. Perhaps you cover it in a video I haven't seen. If so, I apologize. Keep up the great work!
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad2 ай бұрын
I haven't talked about and I will not bring it up more than I want the lower body to be a natural help to what my hands want to do. I firmly believe that if we overload our lower body with instruction the natural movement will disappear and it will be very hard to recover.
@ast4530002 ай бұрын
@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Fair enough. For me it has unlocked the whole swing. My friends are stunned at how straight my drives are consistently going. Everything feels natural and effortless now. Relatively few golf youtubers talk about it. But as I said, all tour players bend the lead knee in the backswing, without exception as far as I can tell. Jack Nicklaus does an extreme version of it. That seems pretty significant. But I know everyone is different, and everyone has their own theories. Pax et bonum.

Marcus am i correct in thinking that through the impact area the bottle (wrists extended) is pointing down & emptying at this point?.

I can never have a proper finish. Just b/c of the thing I was born with. Bone thing. My left hip is fairly weak. It's hard to explain ...lol...anyway, I always practiced a one pc. takeaway like Sam Snead. If you ever see the power Sam had he got it by putting every ounce of energy into impact. Beautiful. My bone disorder never hurt me though. I could always play good with it. And also you do too Marcus. You get it all into impact. Beautiful.

Love your content. I feel like I’ve adopted all your principles to my game and while I’ve not mastered all of them, they have still radically transformed my game. I have a question about this though. With irons you say we need to “hit down” or other words we must “compress” the irons. And I would concur that they must be struck with a “trap” technique and not a “sweep”. If that’s the case how do you manage to hit down on irons and still manage to swing up and out? I feel like if I don’t hit down and have a slight inward path that I will skull the ball and hit it 50 yards right. Would you say it’s almost an upward hit? Thank you!
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad2 ай бұрын
The up and down of the club is decided mostly with wrist control but swing path is controlled by our arm swing/circle. We can hit down or up with and inside to out swing but it's not gonna be as steep as an outside to in strike. Hey buddy, random question for you. I’m thinking of building a shed for a golf simulator. What size is yours? Or since you’ve used it for a while what minimum size do you recommend! I know I need 10 ft ceiling for sure, but not certain of if I really need an 18’ x 15’ space. That’s kind of a big shed.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad2 ай бұрын
Hi. If you only play right or left you only need a 10' wide. Mine is 20' wide 11' high and 25' deep. The distance to the screen will determine how often you will have to replace the screen and it will feel more relaxed the further away you are. I have 10' distance in my studio. If you hit in a net I don't think it matters to much.

Hi Marcus. Thanks for the great golf videos. It was great to see your swing in slow motion. Apparently, it is enough that the pelvis is in a straight line at the time of impact. I've tried hitting like the pros with an open hip position and a straight front leg. It's hard at 52 and after a hip injury. When I go into the downswing I tend to drop myself into a deeper angle. Do you think that's a bad thing? Many teach that by dropping the weight, you gain power. Of course, at the moment of impact there should be an extension upwards. Does this matter to the amateur golfer?
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad2 ай бұрын
I have always had a late body/hip rotation but it never helped me to speed it up, I only lose speed in the club. I have never prof that higher/more hip rotation is gaining club speed. Instead, many of the long hitters I meet rely on arm speed. When you think in a circle your body will always help you do that circle by moving up and down and that is the natural move you should try to find. If we overload the lower body with instruction we will lose the natural motion we use hundred of times every day.

I realised that when i try to swing out as much as i can, i get that high finish and tall posture and weight shifts to the lead side even with the driver. When i dont swing out enough my club exits on my shoulder line on the followthrough and then i usually get bad shots and finish with bent legs and not with a good tall posture.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad2 ай бұрын
Swinging out is all about understanding how rotation will get the club to the target. Watch this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5nGhIGagNipptksi=MeGYcMoIAR33sOfq

@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Thanks, i needed to see this video. Filmed myself yesterday and saw that i start the downswing with a slight rotation before my arms start to move, this throws the club to a slightly steeper angle and i dont like that. When i tried to feel that i dont rotate at all on the downswing, then my arms started first and i was able to keep the circle on the same path. Much better shots and feel like there is a lot more swing speed. Also noticed that the harder i try to hit, the early rotation kicks in. Old habits die hard it seems

Hi buddy, is the lead hand turning over passive by itself? or do you turn it over with a move? I have a hard time to have the same swing every day.
