The NCR guards at the train door will leave the door unguarded for a moment. There’s another “shift” that takes over. Instead of relieving them at the door, the next shift shows up a little bit after the guards leave. Which gives time to go through the train door without being spotted. There’s a dark corner next to some waiting area chairs, just to the right of the train door, perfect for waiting for the shift change. There’s a specific time that occurs, like 6am/6pm, but I’ve forgotten exactly what it is. I realize just walking up naked and straight past the guards is faster. But if you want to role play a more realistic experience, this is a good choice.

Definitely part of the non-linearity of NV, the game designers left a couple of routes that experienced players can get through if they want to skip the early game. I found the route you took by accident by going the reverse direction. Got to Sloan from the Strip and realized that the route was covered in Deathclaws after the fact lol.

Fascinating. I'm on my first playthrough and I went north of good springs and charged through fhe mountains and ended up on top of bonnie springs. Getting through the gas stations on the outskirts was nervewracking because of the fiends but nonetheless I made it to the outside wall and eventually found freeside. From there I just played 21 until I had enough caps for a counterfeit passport

I did basically the same thing earlier for the first time. Just winged same direction you did. Instead I walked around black mountain and used the gap with the falling rock and bear traps and grabbing the uniform off the dead soldier. Then went straight to camp mccarren and hopped on the monorail with the uniform on. Surprisingly easy when you know what to do lmao 🤣. My playthroughs are forever broken.

I just took out the Securitrons guarding the entrance at Freeside (with the help of Boone). It results in no notoriety or reputation loss. Hardest obstacle with getting to NV though wasn’t the Deathclaws which are easy to avoid, but being constantly hunted down by the Legion.

@@MegaChris711 go through the front gate! First enter Freeside and then go over the front gate to the Strip it’ll be called Strip North Gate. You’ll either have to get a fake passport from the vendor in Freeside that sells guns (I can’t remember their names right now) or pay for one outright which will be a few thousand caps

It's faster if you go on the mountains till Redrock. You just shoot down on the cazadores when you get to the tribal camp and go right on to the strip.

I followed this tutorial when I saw the strip from Hidden valley while trying to get to some place. I WOULD NOT recommend going from Hidden valley there is to many bark scorpions. Unluckily for me there was a death claw by the crane I wasted so much ammo and that thing I just wanted to get to the strip have it marked down ,save and I can enter whenever I want.
