I’ve seen what looks like a hyper melanistic blue tongue hanging out in some of your vids curious if you’re ever going to try and breed it. I’ve never been able to find any breeders for the hyper melanistic morph in the US, it’s easily my dream lizard.

What type of cat food can you give them?

Which type of blue tongue skinks are easier to care for? I know that one needs more humidity then the other one. I've always had bearded dragons and leopard geckos, i would like to get a blue tongue skink one day. I also have a crested gecko which I love. Love the videos they teach me a lot that I didn't know.

I’m not sure of the availability of the localities in other countries as I’m from Australia but I grew up owning eastern blue tongues and was breeding them for more than half of my life. Having said that, these are absolutely hardiest animals you will ever own, they will eat pretty much whatever you put in front of them and do pretty fine no matter the conditions. Mine live outdoors in a natural garden and they would be fine all times through the year going from under 0 degrees Celsius to over 40 and have been thriving for well over 10 years now. In an outdoor setting rain will be the biggest concern but as long as they have logs and places to go they’re fine. In terms of keeping them indoors everything said in this video is absolutely spot on although I’d usually add a bit of greens to their diets and they also love to eat snails. Personally I like the look of eastern and northern blue tongues the most though I’ve only ever owned Easterns, I’m not sure how available they are outside of Australia as I usually see other varieties on social media outside of local breeders. Check out @bluetonguelizard.com.au on instagram if you want to see the absolutely most beautiful examples of these animals. Sorry for the massive reply, these really are my favourite reptiles, I hope some of what I said was helpful to you and made sense :)

I will check it out thanks, the long reply was helpful, its better then saying eastern is easier then northern. I appreciate your reply, thank you.

You don't need to use dog food I don't use wet dog food but will give mine some kibble once in a while but I keep their diet varied

I don’t know if my new gecko is eating or not, I haven’t seen her eat yet and she been acclimating for a week now but every morning I go to her enclosure and the bottle cap of food is knock over. Does that most likely mean she is eating since the food cap is constantly rearranged lol

Beautiful babies and adults, but I don't care for the tub setup, very unnatural and not allowing stimulation or the ability to view them. Hope the hobby moves away from racks in the future.

@@foxyanaandpals3685 "I thought they only lived up to 20 years :/" So 20 years are fine then? And yeah didn't realize that captivity cuts so much of their lifespan, probably due to such appalling conditions
