Cheers James - quick one for you- my in laws have an open vent heating system. It needs to be as there is solid fuel involved. Now they have rads in the attic and the little top up tank is not much higher than them(2 feet max). Wouk you recommend opening the lock shields a little more on this setup to stop it pumping over?

What if you keep needing to bleed 1 or 2 radiators every couple weeks yet the boiler pressure doesn't seem to be dropping to indicate a leak? The rads could do with balancing but 1 of lockshield valves are old and might start to leak during adjustment. Any advice?

James, where are you!! My head is wrecked! Great video. Well done.I have 1 for you :) 3 zones. Z1 - HW. Z2 DS CH. Z3 US CH. Z1 heats HW & Z2 (z2 two port valve motor is off). Z2 heats Z2 only. Z3 heats Z3 only. Any ideas. I checked everything, wiring etc. why would hot water heat rads on z2, but when z2 is called only, it doesn't heat HW, only it's own zone.

I'm going to go with the thought that if you don't know where you can stick a wire, DON'T stick it there!!! ;-) Best case scenario nothing happens, middle case scenario you blow your piece of equipment and it costs you to replace / install it, worst case scenario.... you die. Don't mess with electricity if you don't know what you're doing.... I was using a small ESP32 board the other day and hadn't noticed that the V5 and GND wires from the onboard pins had touched as I plugged the device into the USB on my computer to upload new code..... sniff sniff... what's that smell... look down... what's that smoke rising up from that chip!!!!! Even low voltage stuff can cause a fire if you don't know what you're doing! ;-)

Artisan started to do more DIY content. Is this a theme Google tells you to create or is it just a coincidence?
@plumberparts3 ай бұрын
I’ve always done DIY content (but then it’s easier as a plumber - I know Jordan well and he has rightly been worried about doing it in the electrical space) 👍

Things I would have done as well is check the power supply to programmer , to boiler but then burner , check the pump and motorised valves are also on / off Correcty, a programmer that old I would change . Not sure just a plumber job , level 3 ? heating engineer?, everything else I would do the same but I'm surprised you didn't mention oftec or gas safe or g3 certificated before messing with the boilers or unvented cylinder. Unfortunately we find lots of problems with boiler and unvented installs done by plumbers.
@plumberparts3 ай бұрын
We started with the programmer as you pointed out. Agreed on skill level for the change. I didn’t mention invented cylinders. CHEERS! 👍
