Is there ways for younger djs to get more exposure and actually play out. Also what are some ways that we can get DJ sets that we record heard? Thanks so much love from Canada!

How old were you when you got your first gig?
@EbbesMedia6 жыл бұрын
Nice story Jon! But I have a question. What if the clubs you're trying to reach out to only have mainstream artists with mainstream music? Mostly I produce Hardstyle, which in my country isn't that big. What would you recommend? I switch up my type of music and get recognized first or?
@amex44536 жыл бұрын
i think it's better that you play the music which the crowd enjoys and suits the style of the club , if the people like mainstream music there's no way you're going to get away by playing hardstyle , you could always throw in a few tracks here and there but mainly stick to the music which the people enjoy or could enjoy, you must remember that you're djing for them and not for yourself . Hope this helps :)

Can a 14 yr old get a gig because i am 14 and i dont think any one would like watching kid djying?
@robinpfeiffer38146 жыл бұрын
I started playing my first gigs at the age of 14 or 15. I got to know older DJs and was able to show them that I was really able to dj and that I'm ready to take this more seriously. They invited me to their shows and let me do a few transitions. As I got older and gained some more experience some of them let me do their warm-up. In the meantime, I played at my friends partys and when i turned 17 I was ready for my first "real gigs". People still ask me how old I am whenever I dj somewhere but most people sounded more positively surprised about my age. Looking back I had only one gig where the promoter was very skeptical about my age but I was able to convince him at the end of the night. Hope I could help you ;)

I love producing, but I hate DJing. It's so boring and lame. All you do is just stand there, make a list, use harmonic mixing and sync every song. Then stand there some more.
@amex44536 жыл бұрын
it's definitely not boring or lame....seems like you've had a bad experience with it or are struggling
@zeroempathy51946 жыл бұрын
man, if you become a bigger artist, and you have to go to play, like seriously let me be the dj performs under your name, that way you have to take care of producing only!:D
