Ive been watching your videos all day. As someone who started out learning novel craft who’s interests expanded into also making screenplay/pilot versions of my stories (someone who consumes a lot of writing and business of writing videos for the last year) I can confidently say no ones done it like you have so far (the breadth of privileged intel). It’s been weeks maybe months since I had frequent aha moments yet today alone I’ve had like five. I just can’t thank you enough for showing a window into the black box that is the business. I hope to soon inquire via the website or whatever the proper channels are to get your help on the script I want to try breaking in with. Thanks again, thank you thank you thank you.

Thanks for sharing these tips. I really appreciate the insight. It sounds like this method would work pretty well if you’re already repped or you’ve got some substantial credits. I’d be interested in hearing about starting from scratch and getting repped. I’ve got a finished feature screenplay, and official selection to a festival for that screenplay and not much else (other than my vlog), so what next? You know what I mean? Haha.

Another great video with lots of actionable advice! I used a slight variation of this and got a request for a read, cheers to Chuck and Scriptfella for sharing. As an unrepresented writer, any thoughts on including something about seeking management/representation or advice? Or does a query to send a script imply this? Thanks
@Scriptfella3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jason - I wouldn’t. They know everyone wants to get repped. And based on chuck’s advice, I wouldn’t put the word representation in the title of your email - use the title of your movie.

Thank you for all the videos! They are insightful and helpful to so many of us. I have yet to put any of my scripts out there but with your tips and guidance, I hope to be able to get script feedback from you soon! My biggest question is what if I'm not sure how to answer the "why me?" question. There are probably lots of writers who can write the same stories in a successful, albeit different way. I don't have more experience, more knowledge or the same personal history as the characters. I just love the characters and their stories and want to tell them. Is that enough?
@Scriptfella3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rachel, if the script is exceptional, then that should be enough. But per my 7 Strategies vidI suggest you also think of the bigger career plan and try and figure out what you're good at and what you want to known for. D

I’d need help with a fair bit, Queries, Logline and how to help make the scripts better reads. One is two friends who have a fallout due to a deceitful person coming between them (show) Another is young witches going up against an immortal sorceress and her loyal followers who want to rid the male population. The third is an angry young man who takes his anger out on gun wielding killers in an engagement party No screenwriting credits so I got next to nothing to work with
@mroctober36573 жыл бұрын
Probably because the ATF sounds like a bunch of party poppers who don't want you drinking or smoking or playing with guns. A show about an agency who are pro-alcohol, pro-tobacco and pro-firearms might be a better sell.
