I tried hard to use the clapping and copying today and it worked. I think I am realizing that some of my frustrations are coming from trying to do too much whole group teaching and getting away from what I am most comfortable with. I am most comfortable teaching in small groups. Keeping the attention of 23 kindergarteners at once is no joke!

Just revisited this ..good stuff! Especially the "if you can hear my voice" one, my difference was I was saying if you can hear my voice, put a finger on your nose, show me a thumbs up, etc, but I was telling them and not getting everyone's attention! I'm psyched to try the nonverbal way you noted!

There's definitely been ups and downs. But, I have learned so much and I feel like I am improving everyday. I always reflect and try to find ways to fix what is not working( which is why I found your channel!). It has been interesting teaching Kindergarten as I never imagined myself as a Kindergarten teacher. But, I actually really enjoy it!
