Hey Blair, I love your videos. I do have a technique on painting the less dominant hand. lets say you're painting your right hand, hold the nail polish brush on the left hand firmly,place it on the nail,and instead of dragging the brush, move the right hand back instead. Great video! You may already do this, but I recommend keeping the small cap on the Drip Dry when it's not in use instead of the dropper because the dropper lets air in and the Drip Dry will evaporate more quickly.

I've had nail enhancements for the longest time (and I had gorgeous nails like that too haha), and now I'm just getting back into painting them because I can't afford nail enhancements any longer. its the soft skin that surrounds that nail holding in a lot of moisture. It tends to grow quite fast for some people so they either push them back or get them cut. Your choice.

You paint so neatly! I do my own nails every week but they look like a hot mess on the surrounding skin so I have to clean them up afterwards with a Q-tip or that clean up tool from Sephora. I love that color and will def have to try that drip dry stuff.

I'm a nail biter, but I have recently been stopping. And actually, one of the reasons I stopped was because I saw your nails! Blaire, your nails are so pretty and perfect, and I hope that after I fully break this habit, my nails look just as good as yours. :) Great video. I think the best thing to try for stopping biting your nails or picking at them like i use to do is get a good nail strengthener so they are stronger and harder to do damage to and also wear a nice nail polish. If they are painted nicely and strong your less likely to want to bite them. This worked for me and now i have long and strong nails. It's always worth a try!

An alternative to cutical oil is olive oil. What I do is simple - I mix a Tbs of olive oil with my fave essential oil like, Lavender, Coconut, tangerine pretty much whatever. Great Vid!

just a tip: throwing it out there- to make any color brighter, after the base coat, put a coat of white (opaque) nail polish so that you dont have to put on as many coats of the color, if its a sheer color.

blair! i have a tip, okay so you always want to paint your thumb last because incase you get nailpolish on your skin from painting other nails, you usaully whipe that away with your thumb nail so your gonna want to do that last so you don't have bad nailpolish over your good coat(:

Any oil will work as a pretty good substitute for cuticle oil as well, for those who don't have it. I use baby oil, but have even used vegetable oil before!

I am also lucky enough to have lovely nails like you, they just grow really string and long. I dont even cut them! I just file them if they are getting a little too long. Quick question though - do u ever buff your nails? I do maybe once a month. It gives them a natural shine and promotes healthy growth xx

Since you have really strong nails it doesn't matter but for those who don't match the nail shape to the white shape at the bottom of your nail below your cuticle. If it is a half moon shape then round your nails and if it's square then file them like Blair did!

hahhaa I'm the same way when filing my nails, I hate the feeling!! Anyway, great video! I do it a little differently, I file my nails before soaking the in the water and right after I paint each nail I run a toothpick or something like that around the cuticle so it's easier to clean after ;) xo

they make a polish called "no bite" or something like that. you paint your nails with it and it keeps your fingers out of your mouth because of the taste. I've heard it works.

TIP ON PAINTING WITH LEFT HAND: Try STARTING with the left hand(painting the right) everytime your doing a manicure. I did this and after 5-10 times it really helped, I don't know why, but you get better at it; your left hand gets steadier. Now, I always start with painting my right hand, and sometimes that hand looks better than my left.

I used to be a nail biter too. Funny thing is, I don't bite my nails when I have nail polish on. If you want to grow your nails out, you can put a layer or nail polish on your nails. That way, the look pretty and you don't want to bite them, so you won't. I dunno. It works for me!!! I haven't bitten my nails in about a month!

You just have to keep practicing. And if you paint out of your nail you can use a Q-tip with nail polish remover on it to fix it.

When I paint my nails, I always paint my right hand first (all 2-3 coats+top coat) before I even start painting my left because whenever I try to alternate hands inbetween coats, I always end up messing up a nail or two on my left hand. Also, you know how sometimes you accidentally get polish on your finger and you usually use your thumbnail to kind of scrape it off? Well, when I finish my right hand and paint my left, I usually use a wooden cuticle stick so I don't mess up my right thumb c:
