I love how you did like an in-depth glazing video. I was wondering if you could do more studio vlogs? I hope you have a fantastic week!

Thank you so much! This makes resin a lot less scary to dive into for me ❤

If you cure it a second time in a little dish of water it should make the outside sticky layer cure as well. I don't remember the science behind it but a friend gave me this tip an it works well :D

ive seen that trick but it doesn't work well for me for some reason! :D x

I just UV glazed for my first time. It was... interesting. I hot glued them to jar lids, hoping it'd make them easier to paint (which they promptly popped off of lol). The next problem I had was that the extra resin sorta puddled around the bottom, which means I had to sand it off. :') (you can see this in my first video, which I finally posted, btw). I'll try doing thinner coats and sticking them to a surface using tack next time, and see if that helps. :)

You’ve got it!!! It will pool around the bottom if you use too much, small THIN coats are the way! In my most recent video I go through it there, one thin layer to begin with is key as that will act as a primer almost!! Xx
@ItsVesperArt8 ай бұрын
@@sugarshrimp Will definitely try that. I went super thick with mine because I love the thick juicy gel look and was in a hurry to get there. Honestly I do the same with my nails and it never turns out well. I should know better. hahah

I have been using sculpy clay to secure my clay figures in place for glazing, but it leaves a foggy little mark where the clay was and I don't know how to clean it off! Does the blue tack do the same thing? Also what would be a good way to get that foggy mark off? Thanks!

hi, ur vid is sooo helpful!! i have a question, how do u prevent ur charms from sticking to whatever tray they’re on when they’re curing?
@EggZema_7 ай бұрын
What do you use to stick the charms on the tile? Is that just gray polymer clay?

its blu-tac :D

So I have a question for you! When I do really thin coats at least with the first one I see a lot of inconsistency and even some pulling from edges. do i soldier on and just trust the process and keep adding thin thin layers?

Does this resin smell strong? I like the brush you use. It seems to go on smooth with that brush.
@sugarshrimp8 ай бұрын
yes!! all resins do smell, if they don't i think it just lures you into a false sense of security and makes you think you can get away without wearing a mask. always wear proper ppe when working with it x
@bridgettesblogАй бұрын
why are u not wearing any protective gear? They said resin is harmful. 😢

does anybody know why my resin shrinks when I cure it? I apply a very even amount over the polymer clay but when i take the piece out of the uv light, there are lots of spots with no resin, as if the resin had shrinked. Why is that happening? :(
@kayt986 Жыл бұрын
From sugar's video I learned that if you apply a really REALLY thin layer first and then let that cure before your thicker final layer it works much better (and also blend down the edges of the layer to be thinner so there's a gradual transition if you need to turn it over to coat the other side)
@sugarshrimp9 ай бұрын
exaaaaaaactly that!! :D the really thin layer acts almost like a primer for it to stick too!
