This was such a charming video! 😃 I only recently this year got into making clay pins and I'm obsessed with making miniature creations 🥰🥰 I had trouble using E6000 glue too! I ended up using a ceramic bond glue from Selleys and it works really well! Your froggies turned out so cute - I love their timid expression hehe. I always forget to my clay plinths for them to sit on while curing, thank you for reminding me 😊

With air bubbles I heard that if you use a lighter over the resin before you cure it, it will bring up and pop any air bubbles. Not sure if it works but that’s what I have seen many KZbinrs do.

hello! it's a 3M one in a size medium I think, and this is the name of the cartridge: "3M Organic Vapor/Acid Gas Cartridge/Filter 60923, P100 Respiratory Protection (Pack of 2)"

Something I just like to do is first paint the things your making then glue the back. So that you don’t get paint all over the back and the back look nicer. I use acrylic paint and I use hot glue to glue the backs. I recommend super glue, jewelry glue, or hot glue. If your using hot glue or super glue make sure to have adult supervision if your on the kid side so you don’t get the super glue on your hands or touch the hot glue cause hit glue is exactly what it’s called.

yay thanks for this vid!! it was so helpful to see :^) which type of sculpey do you use? e.g. original, sculpey III etc. I currently use E6000 and I agree it's scary to use at times lol. Thanks for the recommendations! I'm probably gonna switch back to gorilla glue or something and continue to resin the back to secure. For the bubbles, I usually use a lighter to get out the major bubbles but those lil ones can be so tuff!!
@MeganWangart3 жыл бұрын
hehe thank u for watching!!! I think I use sculpey III, not 100% positive. I bought a HUGE box of it. omg, do you find you have to wait a really long time for the glue to cure? I tried using it and let it sit for like about 24 hours, but it was still tacky afterwards! oh totally, resining the back will make that super secure.. i should also do that LOL i'm just so lazy when it comes to resin! ohhhh i think I tried using a lighter once but had mixed results.. im going to try again! thank you for all ur kind words + suggestions :)
@heather4913 жыл бұрын
@@MeganWangart i've been eyeing this 8 pound of sculpey on amazon LOL... which is why i ask heheh. YES and sometimes i accidentally pull it off and it's just a long jello like string... resin is honestly the worst part but i'm going to make those stands you have which will make it more bearable :^) and OF COURSE!!
@yoselin26393 жыл бұрын
Many other big pin makers use sculpey original:)

if i use uv resin, do i really need to use a uv lamp? thank you
@MeganWangart3 жыл бұрын
hello! yes I'd recommend it. you technically can cure the resin under direct sunlight too, but i've found that I'm not always crafting when the sun is out and very strong. but sun works too! i just prefer using my lamp to cure most of the resin, and then finishing it off under the sunlight.

I wanna start making clay pins but I'm not sure which sandpaper to use :'v help
@MeganWangart3 жыл бұрын
hey! any sandpaper works really to get smooth surfaces - you just have to make sure that the grit of the sandpaper isn't too rough. if its too rough of a sandpaper it might just scratch up your pin - i would chose a finer grain sand paper
