NOTE: When I said you don't need scrap metal, what I meant is that you don't need to go looking for it to farm it. If you kill the haybots you encounter and refine the ones you run into along the way, you'll have enough, so you dont have to go killing haybots for metal!!

just the tip mind you: When building your car place a ring of blocks outside your wheels whenever you can place corn on this ring, It serves 3 purposes: 1 added armour for the nasty little wheel stealing tote bots, 2 the corn attracts the wocs who will drop milk. This if useful if you are climbing through a POI and come back to the vehicle and have a stack of milk. 3 Hay bots will also attack wocs before they attack your car. but when they attack they get pathfinding issues as the line of blocks puts the seat out of reach of their weapon. If they attack the outer ring they will have to break the corn as well. This can buy you some time in an attack.

Pull the wheel out, get the wheel and the bearing, then put the wheel on the ground. They might have updated something, because I think you only get one bearing now. But still very worth grabbing.

Pro tip: find a island (in my world there is one near the mechanic shop a little way down the coast) make sure you plant your crops in the center so bots can't spawn on the island (mine is a small medium island that has quite a bit of room.) Once that is done you can eventually build a bridge for vehicle access.( I have a draw bridge to keep bots out.) If done right you will not need to deal with raids.

As far as I know, all the worlds are the exact same, so if you go into one spot and there's a bunch of cotton, there will be the same amount in a different world (This was pre-release so it might've changed a bit)

Update for the new beacon system: place the first Master Battery in the spaceship. There is a terminal on the opposite wall from where the battery goes. Get another bucket of water and put out the fire in front of the terminal, and then active the terminal. (When Moonbo recorded this, that terminal did not do anything. Now it activates the log, and the beacon management system is part of the log.) When you get to the Mechanic Station, there is another Master Battery in the middle tube next to the station. Be careful, there is a haybot in there with it. This will add maybe a minute to your time, but will give you access to the log and beacons.

A good tip that my friend figured out is to walk backwards while swinging your hammer when fighting haybots. That way you can hit them without taking damage!

TIP: you can eat/drink while refining. You also might want to switch the key binds for the mouse buttons use shift+LMB to get RMB to work so you can hold RMB to pick up stuff instead of spamming “E”

Edit: Patched on May 12 patch 0.4.2 i found a bug that allows you to make free large chests (provided you already have one and a connector tool). but here is how to do it works 100% of the time. Make 1 Large chest Make 1 connector tool Place connector tool in chest Delete chest to carry it Press RMB to drop chest Press RMB to pick up chest Chest will go in hot bar But you will be able to place 2 chests back down 1st chest is the original and the second is an empty copy. Repeat it only duplicates the chest not the items inside. and idk if it works for any storage that you can put in a connector tool and pick it up.

18:22 It saves operations done on the CPU and GPU. You can’t force load it to do that, unlike Minecraft Java Edition (Vanilla Command /forceload and Modded Chunkloaders). My tip: Sunshakes act as Medical kits! They heal you in addition to feed you. Save them and use them as needed.

There is a specific direction you go from the crashed ship, as the bird flies, to reach the mechanics shop. I believe what i did was put the ship to my back, and travel passing the starter gardening pondon my right. If you go straight in that general direction, you WILL find the shop. What youtubers arent either noticing nor explaining, is that each new game is completely randomized. Only choice locations, such as the crashed ship, the two buildings near it that this youtuber explained, the packing stations, the warehouses, and the mechanics shop are set in stone, so to speak. Everything else, including OTHER wrecked buildings, is completely randomized. For example, at the mechanics shop on one of my saves, there is bodies of water the exact same short distance on the back and front of the shop. There was barely enough room for the road. On the other that same location had, within minimum draw distance, a warehouse (the corner of, but still) no less then 4 wrecked buildings, a wheat field, and a hill to the shops right, that has 2 of the wrecked buildings, with cotton on the other side. Its like, THE best world spawn, especially if your like me, and forgot that drills were a thing, so all your metal came from hay bot arms. Edit: but in both of my saves, and my younger brothers save, the mechanics shop was located in the same direction, for the same distance, from the crashed ship, in all three saves. So, even if the warehouses and such are randomized, either my scrap mechanic ga,e have some serious mechanics shop location luck, or at the very least those two locations are fixed. Other stuff is randomized. So as far as youtube videos detailing where to find something (such as cotton) they are completely useless, because that is one of the things that are randomized. As for locations, most of those are fixed.

Here's a good tip. At the scrap garage ther are 3 pods. These are perfect for storing item by placing them down since you dont have much storage in the beginning. Use 3, 3 randomly spawns a haybot. You can seal the door by placing blocks just outside or inside the door. Once sealed you can enter through the windows using your lift. Great strat for the beginning.

This is a scrap man strat but you can use your lift to fight haybots and youll be safe however the lift does go down when they attack it so have it keybinded to a key easily accessible

I spent 2hours looking for the items to make that vehicle you made. I wasn't near one of those scrap towns. I finally made the car and went and found a town. I got out of my car to go in a building and a hay bot jumped on my car and destroyed in I would say 3-4 seconds. It blew up except a wheel, bearing, and pipe. Motor, battery, seat, and everything else gone. I was in the middle of the street and walking around the area for several minutes before hay bot came out of nowhere. It was actually on the car and the car was moving before it blew up. I don't think I'll play any more because I don't like mobs just popping on me randomly and ruining hours of work.

Corn can be fed to woks to get milk (3 corn=1 milk) and can be quickly and easily grabbed while enroute to early game locations, this milk has little food value but lots of hydration and its basically free and easy food. Plus getting in the habit of doing this makes it so you will have good habits for once you have a cook bot

To expand on this, you can make a really simple suspension putting a free bearing after the steering but before the the axle that the wheels are on. You will need blocks going above it a short ways to prevent the "suspension" from rotating fully

@@theun-knownmusician5468 I want an option that's just the survival world but with a creative mode, so I can enjoy the world space and the water physics unhindered and only have the option of adding a health bar if I want, but this world can only be unlocked by defeating some sort of boss in survival, now that would be cool, build a special becon, power it up and this robot mothership comes in, you gotta fight through farmbots and turrets to shut down the mothership, high risk, very high reward, like a ton of resources maybe and if you take the time to build a new tower you can get even more resources, but if you defeat at least one you should get that option I mentioned before, I'd be incentive to play survival and would be hella fun too

Tip: the best place to put your farms in on the top of the mountains that surround the trader, since it is flat enough to farm, small enough to have the bots not spawn on it, and steep enough that the bots can’t get up. The only problem is the hat it is annoying thing to get the water up there but there is care feed water in the traders place.

I feel like it would be cool if the master battery acted like an RTG (Radioactive thermal generator) and SLOWLY creates power constantly for electric motors to use. Of course, it would be slower than solar panels if they add that in the future, but it's a nice backup to have and can even be used in tandem with a normal engine in a 'hybrid' setup.

I've learned that the master battery is always somewhere near the mechanic shop anyway (usually in one if the houses). So no need to save it really.

There is no need to save the first battery. There are two batteries; If you go into the first building it is on one of the floors, you'll see it as you go up. This is the battery that should be used in the spaceship. The second battery is found in the middle capsule at the Mechanic Station, beware though. there is always a Haybot guarding it. The first one should bee used for the spaceship in my opinion because if you need to craft anything while your in that area you have it. and also there is a terminal next to the broken spaceship seat that needs power but is currently unusable.

There is a battery in the middle "pod" by the mechanic station (it also has a haybot) use the battery you get in the begining to power the ship and get the logbook.

Spent my first half hour getting ready to find mechanic station, then an hour fighting and dying to clear the haybots out of the mechanic station.

I started with a glut of chest dropped food and had not spotted the lake (went back in the ship for a scavenge before following the big obvious path of fire and dirt) Later starved to death many a time before finally figuring out the farming mechanism, ark needed irrigation and poop(fertiliser) yet all the places I got seed were land locked. Took n mi e longer than I like to get a bucket, get water, realise that bottled water is useless without a water canon. Built my across farm in the lake edge after quickly getting annoyed by how far the garage was from the water.

heya Moonbo T ... I'd do o7 or o/ normally, but I heard you had a T bug... hee hee .... You mean the "Full version that we have realised so far, more to come, Game."? Haybots will strike at you, they stop to do that, if another one runs in front because you are still backing up and they are still chasing you, the striking one will stab the closer one in the back, that actually bounces it forward, usually as it pauses to strike, which means it "catches" you as it strikes, as SOON as you see it raise it's fork, go Right.. it will "usually" miss. I have a single room on my RNGod Created map that has 13 of them! I learned fast. ALSO, if there are more than four, ALWAYS turn away, so you are running Forward, don't look back, know you are faster than them Forward, always, SO zig zag through a couple trees or rocks, then turn, this separates them into groups of two, apparently. Which gives you time to take one out before the others catch up...
