I Tried Sneaking Into a Warehouse by Flying to the Roof! (Scrap Mechanic Survival Ep.41)

Hey everyone back with more Scrap Mechanic Survival! Today we are trying to see if it is possible to speed run a warehouse by flying to the roof and then skipping all the previous levels! I haven't tried this before but I've gotten a ton of comments that insist it works so hopefully we can get epic loot fast!

If you make 1 harvest of beets, potatoes, and tomatoes, then 2 harvests of carrots, you can make a lot of veggie burgers to last a while. The bigger your farm, the more burgers. Cookbots aren't actually useless like people think.

Entering via roof elevator was never a thing. Axolot only somewhat shown it in Survival trailer, suggesting that entering via the roof may be a thing eventually, one day, in the far, far away future. And you can get gold clothing boxes from golden loot chests, but their spawn chance is like 1% or lower, so... good luck with that...

So you can go into the game files and copy the loot code from the gold boxes, and place its on enemies , if you copy it line for line, its not to cheesy, because it just adds the roll chance to enemies you defeat. Thanks for coming to my kAN talk.

LOL top of screen at 7:55. I've forced the doors open without a key before (bottom floor) and you can hit the button and still get in the warehouse. Try doing that to the top floor and see if the inside button works. I made a wedge to slip between the doors, then put a seat inside to get inside the doors.

I think you might have better luck controlling it with 4 buttons, one for each thruster, and nothing else. Sure, you'd need to keep both hands on the keyboard, but you will be able to control it better. Either that, or having a switch for all 4 thrusters, and a 2-in-1 glitch-steering, one axis controlled by left-right, and another controlled by forward-backward through a controller. That way, the steering is done by the seat, and you don't need to worry about powering the thrusters individually. Well, if you really want to, you could use OR gates, to have a master switch and individual switches for the trusters, but those would be more useful mainly when you have cargo or when you want a softer landing, or when you want to steer just a tiny bit. Or a master switch, an OR gate and a NOT gate. OR(Switch, NOT), NOT(Button). Also, you might have a case of Mandella Effect, with the thing bing patched, if what that other comment said it's true, and cheating by going on top of the warehouse was never a thing.

The devs should really introduce armor to the game I would help a lot to do warehouses.

I just say they need to up the bot density in later areas but decrease tapebot damage to 33%. Armor that does this would work too, but thats more work to implement. Personally, I just want them to expand on cook bot. Maybe add fishing to the game where different fish gives different temporary status elements when cooked. Defense up. Melee damage up. Ranged damage up. Refining speed up. Run speed up. Attack speed up (faster hammer swings and spud shots). Night Vision. Lunar Jumps. Fall damage down. Swim speed up. Oxygen limit increase (holding breath longer). Luck up (for things where you harvest or refine or break, anything that gives you stuff or drops, it gives you like 1 more or so for each). The list can go on forever. And it actually makes fishing fun cause you can compare against your friends for what you caught. Hell, there can even be size varations. Bigger fish have longer effect duration than smaller fish of the same type.

You could use a seat and the lift to clip into the top elevator of the warehouse. There was a clip on Reddit when survival first came out of someone doing that on the bottom elevator, but maybe if you could do it on the top elevator as well. No keys required, and you only do the loot room floor.

Why don't you use reaction wheels for controlling the flyer? If you put wheels on bearings on each side of your flyer, spinning the wheels in different directions will turn your flyer in the opposite direction. I was playing challenge mode and used this to build a flyer out of two thrusters, some wheels, an engine, and a button when I was supposed to build a wall climber. You should be able to hook the pitch wheels to W/S to make pitching more stable, and the yaw wheels could be connected to buttons. I only built a crappy flyer with nothing but pitch control, but that was only because I only had one engine. if you had four or so motors it should work, but IDK.

@kAN Gaming I think the best thing is to tilt the thrusters in the directions you wanna go. Or rather away from. to get the desired effect. Rather then turning any of them off. Then you would have an equally smooth steering in any direction.

Honestly I was thinking of buying scrap mechanic for its survival mode, but I figured I would wait and see what it was like when it came out before buying. I'm glad I did. From the perspective of someone who doesn't play this game, but watches it avidly it seems like survival mode will be dead in the water until some major overhauls happen. I say this because: - There is no clear goal to the game - Resource collection is a huge grind, that is unrewarding - in my opinion this is because of: poor yields, glitchy physics, un-renewable resources, and a lack of any form of automation - The game punishes you for playing the way it is intended - There is no way to protect a base from material damage or repair damaged blocks - This promotes either using indestructible structures around the map as bases, or throwing you back into a grinding loop - Warehouses are the only way to get certain loot, and likely should have some reward in them that allows you to farm future ones faster - also they are the only zone in the game largely inaccessible to vehicle, is this not against the game's design philosophy? How does a game about building vehicles punish you for using vehicles? WTF. - Bases. - The lack of any sort of optimization for building permanent or large scale structures absolutely limits the amount of time any player will be willing to put in a file. Why would you build if your only reward is making your file unplayable? A possible solution for SM might be to introduce different sized blocks so large structure would not have to be so intensive on a PC. - They lack real defense tools, basically you are very liable to lose any permanent structure you own without defending manually, and tools like the water cannon, saw, drill, and mountable potato cannon do little to defend you base - especially with the janky hit-boxes of farm-bots for sensors. I would love to see this game take inspiration from Fortnite Save the World mode, as defending your farm would be a very enjoyable loop with some modifications. Like traps that did something like affect an area of enemies maybe some that worked better on certain bots over other ones? This is in my opinion the current largest flaw with the game. - bases are MANDATORY, as for survival mode, you need multiple vehicles to harvest multiple resources, you need a place to store these. and somehow this feels nearly impossible for this game for the reasons above. - Vehicles. - The big thing here is that a ui to save and store full complete vehicles (and maybe keep blueprints to make repairs easier) could really make this game less resource intensive if not all vehicles were rendered at once. Allowing a player to "put away" a vehicle would do wonders for this game - in more ways than one. - The other thing with Vehicles is that they are largely the most important part of this game's design - you use them for farming and most of the creative side of the game focuses on them, yet for farming only the 2 big resources can be gained with them (wood and stone nodes [so I guess by proxy metal]) and two lesser resources (water and chemical) can be automated. Why aren't vehicles used to farm certain crops? oil, bots, and more? There is so much wasted potential for what vehicles can do. - This brings me to my last point for vehicles, Whats with the progression system? the tier mechanic feels like its just a wrench thrown at players to hold them back early game, and a nuisance late game. If you could by chance say, use them for farming crops, wouldn't they have a more integral role in progression, and feel less like a nuisance and more like an achievement? right now I feel like there are a lot of features in the game, but not many of them work together to make a true comprehensive game, they just feel like a smattering of unrelated features. Now I could complain about the implementation of boats and planes here, or a variety of other issues, but I believe that the doves of Scrap Mechanic surely know about all of those issues. I understand that this game is still getting developed and is early in its lifetime. I just want to bring my views that I believe are less surface level and more thought provoking. honestly I am a huge fan of the creative side of the game (yeah yeah I don't play it but I do enjoy watching it). I hope that some of these complaints might make it to ears or eyes that matter. Cheers and good luck game devs. p.s. what do you mean this isn't where I'm supposed to leave a review? What what?

You might be able to do it in multiplayer. If one person stays outside the elevator on the second floor, and another tries to go through the door on the roof, it might work because maybe it de-spawns the second floor whenever you leave it, so that's why you couldn't get through the roof door, but if someone is on the 2nd floor it will be loaded in.

Potential cure for the aggresive controls: rather than a distinct 0 I digital setup, end the off signal through a timer on a repeating mechanism. This would produce a frequency you can control, throughugh use of the timer. Faster on blips produce less reduction in thrust and vise versa.

U can cheese the outfits. Get 1 gold garment box, then save and backup the save. Use the garment box, unbox the clothing item then save, exit and restore your save that had the garment box. Rinse and repeat.

My question is if you map the floors are the elevators going up and down in the same location on every floor....Hence you bring explosives with you and blast thru a few walls and bingo avoid the rest of the zone and bots. After the loot room you have to blast the blank wall on the bottom of the big room outside of loot room its a shortcut to the elevator to top of roof.

They should really add some form of armor. The game should become easier to play as you play it more, They should add ways to automate resource gathering also. So after you play the game for a while you don't have to worry about resources and bots, and you can focus more on building cool creations.

Yeah but that kind of defeats the point of survival I agree with the Armor but having automated miners and tree choppers and stuff seems dumb to me The game is really hard but making it easier is not the solution instead they should add things that help you overcome the hardness And also keep in mind that the latest version is 0.4.8 the game isn't even half finished they will be adding plenty more things and they just finished a massive update so they probably want to take a break and that's why they are only releasing.small patches

Hey, the reason you probably heard about people flying to roof was because they would do it for the ramp pieces and other pieces on the roof, not actually to go into the top floor

You were never able to get to the warehouses from top which is a shame because if someone (like you or me or literally anyone) makes a flyer from more than 200 components they should be able to skip the first few floors I think the reason it's like this is: 1 it's a bug 2 it's on purpose so people don't just stack up with blocks minecraft style or glitch up there somehow And also there is a 17% chance to get an epic garment from a golden chest so have fun with that (: I love this series and I know you put a lot of effort in it so keep it up you're doing a great job and I hope you'll be fine in these hard times

I think when they finally fix this stuff (the bugs, glitches, resource problems, damage balancing, crafting balancing, warehouse decoders, pumpable oil) it'll be in the next *big* update, which will probably take a bit while longer. But i bet scrap mechanic survival and creative will be a completely different experience from what it is now. Hopefully it'll be worth the wait.

Agreed. Especially now that we know the TrashBot boss is going to be waiting for us up there. Skip straight to the boss battle, then get the warehouse reward :P That said, flying isn't the only way up there; you can build your way up a giant pillar. Tedious, but effective.

I turned on cheats with a simple command and went to check out the warehouse in a test survival map. You can turn on /decrypt and see the warehouse wiring with the wiring tool and pick up nearly anything you want. Anyways my mouse freaked out as I approached the elevator and tore it to shreds. I tried putting it back together with no luck. Lol you can get clothing boxes this way which I don’t recommend. It takes the fun out. I use /god, /unlimited (for every item in survival and some from creative), and /decrypt for a creative mode experience in survival.

I think if you use a warehouse key at the bottom, then instead of going through the warehouse from the bottom, go straight back out, and fly to the roof to see if the access is granted.

When you enter the warehouse bring a bed. When you enter out your bed on the lift. Sleep wherever you want in the warehouse.

Hey KaN, you guys should do Armored vehicle challenge, hear me out. Two teams of 2 both teams make two fighter planes and a Armored vehicle with an anti-air gunon it. The Armored vehicle has to get from point A to point B and th e Fighter planes has to try to stop them. Sound like it could be fun In Trailmakers.

I think warehouses are extremely unbalanced as it is currently. In my survival world, I modded the tape bots to only do enough damage to kill in four hits, and it's still really easy to get killed multiple times per warehouse floor. I feel like they will get a lot better though when the encryptors are actually in the game - you'll be able to stick a destruction encryptor onto your tank vehicle and go through the warehouse without tapebots being able to break/blow up your vehicle.

Actually the encryptors only protect it from players the bots can still destroy it (This is as it is currently when you have to do it using he encrypt decrypt dav commands so it might change in the future) And also in the description of the encryptors it says that you have to connect them to a battery container for it to work so you can't just have it on constantly and not care about anything which I think is a good thing because it balances it

kAN! I know a way to make the flyer easier to control! In singleplayer I had a flyer that was extremely twitchy, and I found it actually HELPED to add a stabiliser that wasn’t too powerful, as it slowed the speed of rotation. Maybe this will help!

there is a shortcut from lootroom to elevator, you have to blow up cracked concreet wall down in hall where lootroom is.

Yeah but you can just walk there it adds like 1mins or 5mins if you die and that's better than wasting an explosive everytime you go to a warehouse

Gold clothing found in the WATER cave directly down the hill from the scrap mechanic shop! Full health and you can swim sprint to the bottom and back losing little health!

I always felt the warehouses were out of balance to the rest of Scrap Mechanic. Just way too difficult to run solo when really only farm bots are hard everywhere else in the world. And once you get a Spud Gun they aren't too bad. I dunno, maybe I'm just trash at killing the tape bots, but they kill me so quickly and often!
