That was rather excellent ! i still don't tthink i would be brave enough to do my own on my car though! watching you working on the mk2 gti and the e30 it just emphasises how lucky we are and were to have these great cars around 👍👍 Great work too I wonder, which is your favourite a mk2 gti or an e30 ? best wishes and keep the videos coming! 👍🙏

Thank you friend, I do like them both and they are both very different, but if I had to pick! if would be the mk2. Just makes me smile every time I drive it.

Before installing the timing belt, you have to turn the crankshaft again clockwise to put the pistons at TDC again, right? I think that is obviously, but in the video i don see
@RestoDesignsnando Жыл бұрын
Yes that is right, I can't remember if I showed that but yes you are right it is obvious.

Im just about to replace head gasket on my KR... Got any tips?
@RestoDesignsnando Жыл бұрын
yes get yourself a very good 12mm spanner (if the nut is still OE) to use on the lower nut on #3 exhaust manifold, plus use loads of WD40 a few days before. Otherwise it isn't too bad of a job. 👍🏼
@RestoDesignsnando Жыл бұрын
PS I use a MAC tools 6 sided 12mm spanner if the nut is OE or a 13mm spanner.
@totte1015 Жыл бұрын
@@RestoDesignsnando Hmm, I was thinking of keeping the exhaust manifold on just because of that, its a hassle to get the nuts off, and its not leaking from that gasket Perhaps I should get to it anyway, its a first time job for me :D
@RestoDesignsnando Жыл бұрын
@@totte1015 The issue is the 6 nuts on the manifold to downpipe flange isn't any easier unfortunately. All the manifold nuts can be got to with a socket, it's just #3 lower one which can't be, spanner only. 99% of the time the nuts undo or the whole stud undoes.
