I would love to see you do a feature length video on rear shock teardown and cleaning/service..

I’ll probably do that.

Great video. Prevent zip ties from cutting/scratching your skin by using flush cut snips in place of standard wire cutters!

Great video, thanks! It takes you two hours, including rebuilding the shock? You the MAN! Takes me much longer (embarrassing) doing just the bearings. I would really like to see manufacturers install zerk fittings, seems like years ago (80'S?) you could buy a bolt kit wit fittings on them.

Great tips. That chain needs a bath or bin. Stiff links

Thank you for the great informative video. My 3 fav tips from you today were 1) take it off put I on the bench specifically old zip ties, 2) no need to completely remove the needle bearings if the grease is still fresh (unlikely to mine!) 3) partial insertion of the rear axle to allow putting the chain on easily, Cheers YYC

Actually sweeping the floor is probably the most useful tip for me to be honest!

Years ago i read a article were they tested grease/lok tite/dry and anti seize for over torqueing bolts. They measured bolt stretch and degrees bolt turned before wrench clicked.I eas surprised the biggest offender was lock tite.I figured anti seize would have been the worst before i read the testLike you i only use a torque wrench on critical parts like head fasteners.

Great video. Gotta do my new KX450. Can you do a video for the front end greasing as well.

I probably will. May be a while though.

Why many pro mechanics refuse to wear gloves? I'm just hobby guy but I have discovered that thin "assembly gloves" are very nice to use. Not big loss of feel and good protection (and great grip).

And clean finger nails after!

I wear them often but these little needles demand every bit of finger dexterity I have.

Done this morning on my rieju mr300 2022. I found a completely rusty frozen bearing. Also the needles cannot be pulled out, they have the ends like spikes and are locked in place by curled bearing edges.

Thanks for this. The needles in needle bearings are a little loose, like there’s space for one more but not quite. Is that right or a sign of wear/deterioration? Thx.

Likely some wear but not necessarily detrimental. Grease will often eliminate some play for a while. Check for play once it’s assembled.
