Hey John, thanks for providing another quality maintenance video 👍 I think you’ve highlighted the fact that every manufacturer does not apply enough lubricants on to mechanical systems. So, just as you are doing, I would also suggest that these investigations & applications be done as soon as a motorcycle is purchased. I do this when Christmas comes around.😉 Thanks again.

Great video once again. Between watching you doing the steering head and now the swing arm, makes me wonder what else that needs lubed. Only thing else I would have liked to see is adjusting the chain tension. Thanks for you training. So nice to see it done slowly and explaining small details.

It's NOT just CFMOTO that does not grease the sispension. I've been buying brand new motorcycles since 1967. (I bought a brand new CL350 Honda in 1967 for $700 with my paper route money). I've bought and worked all my bikes over the last 56 years or so. Yamaha's, Hondas, a shit load of Kawasaki's and guess what, 99% of the time I found very little to almost no grease in the rear suspension needle bearings when doing the first tire changes. I'd always be amazed how little grease I'd find in the rear suspension's needle bearings, wheel bearings. steering head bearings. That is why I've always done my own tire changes.

My Tuono 660 came like this as well. Had to be lubed. Japanese are guilty of this too. They are all cutting costs wherever they can. Lube job is the first thing I ask from my mechanics to do.

After watching, you don't have to take the bearings out, so I don't see any need to take anything off, just uncover the bearings, grease, and put shaft in , and cover up. You might loosen the Chan to release tension. What you think? RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!

something to save you time, no need to slacken off the chain adjusters if removing the wheel. just take the axle nut off, take the adjuster block off that side, tap the axle just enough to allow the other side adjuster block to come away from the adjuster bolt, and then the wheel moves forward enough to slip the chain off, then axle out, wheel out. do the reverse and then the wheel and chain go back in at the same adjustment with which you started with, i do it on every bike i owned, hope this helps.

Great video on servicing the 800T. Just picked up mine last Saturday and rode 100 miles back home. It was great, I'm loving it. You mentioned ordering new bearings, any recommendation for a site that carry parts or do you source via the dealer? What about a service manual, any recommendation? Thanks.

Good to hear from you sir, congrats on your new ride... I just ordered bearings and sleeves for a 2020 KTM 790 Adventure through an online KTM dealer.. 'chapmoto.com" out in California. just about all the parts on the Ibex are KTM 790 Adventure. I also bought a 2020 790 Adventure service manual pdf online. I have not found much that is different on this bike as far as parts go... I cannot seem to find where I got the manual from but I just did a search on Google for " 2020 KTM service manual" there were several to choose from. Enjoy that new ride... thanks for watching.. :)

I've had a lot of dirt bikes (Honda's. Kawasaki's, Yamahooter's, and Suckzuki's) with a lot of swingarm arm and linkage needle bearings, axle bearings, head bearings etc etc Guess what, they all seemed to come from the factory with very little to, to almost no grease on the bearings. You should clean and regrease the axle and steering head bears too. Changing out bearing races is no fun.
