I do not comment at all (Considering I watch soo much of varied things on KZbin).... So here I go: Frankly, i feel that this video is so important for any newbie, also it is the first video out of, i think almost 5 videos, that i have watched, that really explained "how to grip/hold a racket" with such ease! None of the other videos used the analogy of "shaking another hand"!!! I came to this video, after watching her other 2 videos for Badminton warm up & cool-down exercises! and instantly subscribed to her channel! Please continue this good worK

If you have been playing using a different grip and change it might cause soreness only because your muscles are not used to it but there should be no pain. My guess is you might be gripping too tight as well so maybe you can fix that😁🏸

It really depends on what you prefer. I like light rackets but most people who like smashing likes the head of the racket to be heavy bec it helps in making their smashes stronger. I suggest for you to go to a store and hold on to the racket that catches your eye, its how it feels when you hold it or swing it a bit or maybe try a friends racket. 😁🏸

Hi coach, I have tried numerous times to use the forehand grip for clears and smashes but I just can't to seem to use the forehand grip, I always use the bevel grip for that. Please tell me how I can correct this or if I don't need to correct it
@CoachKennieAsuncion3 жыл бұрын
When I teach a certain way, it is only my preference and so il explain why its important to have the correct forehand grip only so you can switch to the bevel grip or backhand grip with ease. I would prefer you correct it but at the end of the day you will decide if u wanna work on that or keep your grip as it is! 😁🏸

Look for a good coach who will guide him not just to make him physically stronger but to help him toughen up emotionally. At 8, make him enjoy training not to push it overly because he might get burned out then the coach will slowly adjust his training as he progresses… good luck😁🏸

Hi coach I have been playing for abt 2 years competitively and I’m playing on a national level u15. And one thing that has been bothering me is that many advanced players hold their racket like what you have shown in the vid which was the correct grip and leaving abit of space above the bottom of the grip, but me and some players have been holding it at the very bottom and I would like to know what’s the difference between the very bottom and leaving a bit of space below and why professionals choose to leave a bit of space.
@CoachKennieAsuncion4 жыл бұрын
There is nothing wrong with how you grip your racket when you say you are holding it all the way down. I think me and most players prefer a bit of space only because its easier to maneouver when there are quick changes to the grip like changing to a backhand or bevel grip or for other players when they move forward to attack and would rather hold the grip higher. Also lesser chances of dropping the racket but your grip is not wrong so if that’s more confortable for you its ok to play with it😁🏸
