Thank you DEDE because of you , are whole family bathed and dryed our puppy today and we all felt so comfortable doing it. It’s all thanks to you for showing us how to do it !! We take him to PetSmart but it was nice to actually do it ourselves and have that bonding experience with him. thank you..

This is the first video I’ve seen of yours. My family is considering a aussiedoodle. Would you ever consider making a video going through what owners can do to get their dogs ready for this type of grooming? We’ve never had a dog with hair like this and if it’s in our future I’d like to prepare the puppy for his sake and the groomers. Unless you’ve done a video like that before!

Christina Owens do you blame them poodles are very smart dogs my dog is a jackapoo (jack Russell and poodle) when she was young I trained her to open peanut cans and she learned that in a day she can't do it much now mostly bc she can't see she got cateracts when she was 2 I wanted to get them removed but down here in Ontario Canada it's 3,000-6,000 per eye

Poodles are so smart! I have a German shepherd / standard poodle aka shepadoodle. His protection skills are on par with a GSD, he's super smart and easy to train - that's the poodle, and a very sweet loving disposition, also poodle. Couldn't ask for a better animal.

Hi, Dede! You’ve probably seen me commenting all over your videos lately. I’m addicted and just can’t stop watching! 😆 I’m wondering how do you handle grooming dogs who lick excessively? My toy poodle is a licker, and I’m really afraid that one day she going to get her tongue nicked when I’m doing a clean face and feet or clipping her front legs and chest area. Also, would the small dog up stand work on a tiny 6 lb toy poodle? I can see it helping tremendously with her grooms. She doesn’t like to stay standing and ends up moving all over the table which makes the groom take twice as long. Not fun for her or me. Also, if the dog up stand would be too big for her, is there something else you’d recommend? Thank you in advance for any help you can give, and also thank you for these videos!
@aileenmcp45396 жыл бұрын
facemonkey13 don't get a clean face.. it would be very difficult for a groomer to do if they're constantly licking. The chest and other areas they can deal with.. the face is a whole different story.

Hi dede. I know that you mostly deal with difficult dogs who need to have a quick turn around but I'd love to see you do a groom maybe something like a shitzu using your scissors instead of the shave off.
@gayleklein72436 жыл бұрын
Passing this along - I used to have a really skitty horse who absolutely hated being clipped. The solution was to put a stall toy full of treats in front of his face to distract him. You could have pet parents bring whatever yums the dog is used to and hang them in a mesh bag from the loop arm so you can work while the dog is busy with the snacks.
@jaykneegarner24796 жыл бұрын
Gayle Klein funny you mention horses as I just did a first face cleanup on a 4 year old Friesian/Quarter horse gelding Quietist horse I have ever had the pleasure of clipping. He is smart enough to pick things up quickly but honest enough to not take advantage of his people.
@gayleklein72436 жыл бұрын
Freisians are fantastic. Absolutely beautiful with floaty gaits. The horse in LadyHawke is a Fresian. I have Norweigian Fjord horses now. Hairy beasts, but steady and calm. Not sure if you're interested in horse stuff. There is a niche for groomers to brush out feathers, braid manes/tails and clip in the spring.

Okay I don't get it why do people buy a designer breed pet and then not want it to look like the breed that it is?!? Come on ppl!!
@MildredCady6 жыл бұрын
I’ve noticed that dogs which would have been called a mutt or just a generic “mix” are now being given more specific breed names. Like my best friend’s dog was just a spaniel/teacup poodle mix, and now days would be a cavapoo (I think mom was a cavalier spaniel… I know the dad was the teacup poodle). So it maybe not do much that they got a designer dog, but dogs in general are being given more specific labels. Also, the owner may be looking to emphasize the Aussie side over the poodle. Especially since he’s shedding like the Aussie shepherd side than the poodle.
@jennifern2976 жыл бұрын
Mildred Cady Yes you're right...I have been Momma to them all. I just had "a moment" that's what my momma called it. I KNOW the importance of adoption/rescue but sometimes people are needing certain skills...as in service dogs! I have been completely AMAZED at how quickly my GSD has learned new skills that I need help with. Yes I bought her from a breeder and I felt guilty about it at first. Then I thought OK I didn't have any part of creating this dog. She was here no matter what. I can however give her life meaning, love and satisfaction. I teach her something one evening and I can literally see her thinking and figuring it out. After she connects the dots OMG! Sorry for the long comment!

I can see why the doodle folks would rather not their dog look like a poodle face. The rounded look is so much cuter!

Doodle mom here :) we prefer the teddy bear looking on a doodle, poodles have a more narrow face, generally a golden or in my case a German Shepherd has more boxy rounded snout. I prefer my shepadoodle not look poodly.
