In this video, we will show you how easy it is to grow celery at home from seeds. This video is great for beginners and for those who have never tried to plant this healthy vegetable.
__________
STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL:
1. Soak the seeds overnight in water before sowing to speed up germination.
2. Fill a seed starting tray with potting mix. Choose a high-quality, organic potting mix.
3. Sow the seeds and cover them with a very fine layer of potting soil. Keep the soil moist until the seeds germine. Don't let it dry out. Be patient, the germination of celery can take up to 4 weeks.
4. When seedlings are 2” (5cm) tall, transplant them to individual pots. Celery loves very rich and loose soil. Use a container with a height of at least 7-10” (17 cm).
5. Water well. Celery is originally a wetland plant so make sure the soil is always kept moist. Choose a spot that receives full sunlight. Celery likes 6 hours of sun a day.
6. You can start harvesting when the smallest stalks have reached 6”(15 cm). If you cut off individual stalks and then harvest from the outside in,
the outer stalks are the most mature. To remove the whole plant cut just below the soil line. To harvest the whole plant, make sure the base is at least 2-3” in diameter.
