I mix all my own potting mix and I did all the mixing with a shovel as well until now. I purchased a large composting tumbler. I duct taped the air holes and mix. I can make about 3 cu ft in a few min. Saves me tons of time.

What’s up man? I live on an island out in the Southeast Pacific and my wife’s grandmother just gave me free reign over her roughly 3600 sq ft farm plot. Glad I came across your channel, it’ll surely help a ton with my new dragon fruit farm 🤙🏻

Hello! A great and fully informative video. I wanted to ask how to promote upper growth of sub branches? Do I cut the tip of apical point of the main stem once it grows to favorable size or do I simply leave it and it'll grow the sub stems by itself?

at 31:13 how do you replace an old trellis to a permanent one for an established dragon fruit plant lets say 6yo? do you have to take down the plant and start over? also, you mentioned "repot" your dragon fruit plants, how often do you repot them? thank you. your vids are very informative.

I get 3 fruit max a year….it’s a pretty big plant in the ground….it’s kinda wild because I planted it before I knew about trelis? Since then I’ve got some other potted plants from the parent plant with good growth …no fruit yet . Can I tip those yet ? Or wait until I get a fruit ? It’s been 3 years in pots and looks good just no buds?? Thank you very much !

Overlooking your offensive sweatshirt with a Nazi Cross, this is a nice comprehensive video. I saw an Aussie who said that ants are the major pollinator for D. F. I am in 7b/8a NC and it is hot and humid here for months and we have an excessive amount of slugs and snails. My approach is setting out plastic bowls of cheap beer - they love the smell and fall in and drown a happy death. You don't need to bury the bowls as they crawl up the sides.

I've just been gifted 2 dragon fruit plants (unknown variety) and have been watching videos (including many of yours) to figure out how to take care of them. While I have a green thumb and lots of gardening experience, I live in Zone 9b (Davis, CA) where our summers are too hot and dry and our winters too cold to give me any confidence that I can help these dragon fruit flourish. I have an unheated greenhouse that might work in the winter OR large windows in my dining room that face south and receive sun all day. I've been thinking of putting them in a large pot that I can wheel indoors when temps drop (or let them enjoy air conditioning when temps exceed 110 as they did last summer). I would far rather grow them outside, but fear they will not survive. What so you suggest?
@WhatPlantisthatPaul
@WhatPlantisthatPaul Жыл бұрын
I am in zone 9b too. Once the plants are mature, they should do fine in the winter. You can cover them with frost cloth if needed. If possible, just grow them under 30% shade cloth and they will thrive in your area.

I gave you a comment on your first one hour video. You are making too many mistakes and disinforming people. You are using bags and bags of different mixes when these plants need nothing. That's why you got rooting stalks, pests, bugs, etc. They are attracted fo the surplus of nutrientes your plants have. Your plants are yellow, curved and mushy they should be dark green, hard and the stalks not bending at all. Think about it. You don't even need the common arrangement of the big pole and 6-7stalks growing until they can wrap around the pole. Someone started this and now people think they need to wait 3- 4 years for the plant to reach this long line long stalks to give fruit. Check how Asian people grow this. Just 2-3 stalks shorter poles just a wide round shallow planter and the plants give more production that way. Really there is no need for the plant to be 7-8 feet long they give fruit just from the first stalk using just sand and poor soil and a lot of sun. Dry climate almost not water at all.
