Your advice resulted in FANTASTIC growth this time around. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! One thing I would do differently next time is to use Gauze or nothing at all for the botom layer. The tissue is very difficult to separate from the roots and some sprouts had to be discarded. But other than that, and a lot of watering, this was VERY VERY helpful. Thank you.

Although she didn't show it, I'm pretty sure she cut off the roots (and that tissue paper). You can see there aren't any roots after 8:50.

Use cloth to cover instead of tissue paper or gauze.. It's a waste of money tho..all u have to do is every time you wash the sprouts you also give a wash the cloth and cover it back.

i would not use tissue paper. cloth will be a whole lot better - no chemicals and reusable...blessings to all

Mung beans are wonderful, aren't they? Fast and reliable sprouters so long as you have good seeds. Although you didn't mention the purpose of using the plate, it is the weight that keeps them short and fat. Any suitable weight will do. And you managed to get the hulls off even though you didn't mention how. I use a coffee filter instead of tissue. Or sometimes a paper towel. Even a cloth towel works, but better if it is not a terry towel. The roots grow into the terry loops and break when you try to remove them. Then you have to deal with the messy towel. Anyway, growing your own food indoors is always a winning process, especially now.

Hi! I change the bottom paper towel every time I wash the bean so the problem with the roots is solved.

I did mine but i use cloth to cover on top instead of tissue(its only a waste of tissue paper evryday..wash/just rinse the cloth and put it back to cover on top.

Thanks for this. Gonna try. 2 questions- what's 'unwanted' beans and how does the plate make the sprout fat?
@izabellehensley9815
@izabellehensley9815 3 жыл бұрын
1.) It kinda condenses them, forces them to grow thicker stalks to grow 2.) Unwanted beans are beans that are accidentally split in half or deformed beans that won't produce sprouts/good sprouts :) hope this helps,
