Hi Alexis. Kudos to you and your brother. Freeform locs are so organic and bold. The look has so much personality and style. I never considered freeform locs. They are as unique as snowflakes. Do you have any advice for the growth process of freeform dreads?
@AlexisHarris4 жыл бұрын
This is a great question! Thanks for tuning in Marcus. The biggest advice is to let your hair do it’s own thing. There’s freedom in free forming! To protect your locs, you can cover them at night with a silk or satin bonnet. This will help avoid loc breakage. But other than that, it’s all you!!!

I freeformed with shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie and their conditioner and shampoo. i shampooed once every two weeks and conditioned about 3 to 4 times a week and i used the curl enhancing as a leave in conditioner that i put in my hair daily during my morning routines. Also i found this new method when you get out the shower wrap your hair with your towel and leave it to dry when you take it off it will come out looking more dreaded everytime idk how but it works for me. I have 4c hair so keep that in mind as well sorry for the lengthy comment but i had to share the gems for freeforms so many people ask me so i just had to share it
@tyronbethel70554 жыл бұрын
also you gotta let it do what it wants to do. it’s very low maintenance and it definitely gonna make you question your self esteem but that’s the beauty of the journey. you grow to love your hair and yourself as you are and you’ll stop seeking validation from everyone else because not everybody gonna like it or understand but as long as you do that’s all that matter

Question I have short hair curls like OBJ a fro hawk low. I want to start freeform from this length what I do ? I use a dred brush and circle it around and I put oil to keep it smelling good and healthy. I sweat a lot so I’m undecided how I can do this. I also have to use ketoconazole for my dry scalp twice a week and a condition my hair whenever I sweat a lot or rinse my hair. What your opinion on what I should do ? Thanks
@jaasminford-faustina40543 жыл бұрын
From my research, people have said not to dry hair with a towel bc it pulls on the hair and causes it to get frizzy and break. I've been just wrapping it with a shirt or just squeezing it dry with the shirt.
