I had a good ginger size ginger growing from store bought rhizomes, but I did not know they will die in cold weather, so they perished. Thank you for informing me, now I will try again to grow it and turmeric.

Hi Robbie. This past summer, I decided to try growing ginger. It didn't do much, probably because it was in a hot and sunny location. So in the fall I brought it in and replanted it in a bigger pot. It appears to be doing great. This weekend I am going to take it out and hopefully 🙏 use some to make your ginger cookies. And the rest I will repot in an old dish pan. Thank you for all of your wonderful ideas 💡 and don't forget to eat what you grow 😊

Morning sunlight till about noon is cooler, as the afternoon in hot areas it simply too hot and the leaves could burn

If you get some from Sprouts, make sure when you peel it keep the skin as the skins can grow, or at least save a little bit to grow. Thanks and You stay warm too

hi Robbie...I am starting containers garden ( was not able to deal with weeds in regular one) and I have a question. Should I put the containers on the ground -which will stop to grow weeds under- or should I put them on cinderblocks..one maybe even 2...I have enough I am looking forward you or anybody advise.. Not if you have a wet and very cold winter, as it could rot. So that is up to you
