We've got sandy soil on a hill on the foggy side of SF, and I am pretty sure Renee's scatter seeds have taken to it already. I just threw them out, put a little water with a tiny bit of fertiliser on it on them and that's it. I already have a ton of baby sprouts! It took maybe 2 weeks for them to pop out. Thanks, Renee!

Bed prep would be soooo helpful! We are using this mostly in the landscape ...

I put my collected seeds in a large herb bottle. The bottle has shaker holes so I just shake them out where I want them. I bought seeds for the first time last fall from Rene's and this spring the germination rate of all the seeds was very high. Enjoy the videos and your seeds. We are way up in St.Lawrence County New York, foothills of the northern Adirondacks. It is not hard to grow poppies here. But, it is hard to control them lol. Take care!

Very helpful to see the progression. I’ll try to do it in the patches where there are no plants in my front yard, can’t wait for this pop of orange! I have micro emitters, though. How can I make sure they’re getting enough water? I’m in San Diego, zone 10b. Thanks!!

If it's hot, you should water daily while they are seedlings.

Quick question, will these poppy seeds benefits my lime tree if I plant the seeds around the tree?
@ReneesGardenSeeds2 жыл бұрын
The poppies need sun, and planting them under a tree might shade them. There is no benefit to the tree if you plant them underneath.

I live in the Bay Area. Is it too late in the year (April 1) to plant some poppy seeds? I would be planting them in a large pot.

As long as they've got water on them, they're quite happy to sprout. I'm on the foggy side of SF and I noticed the sunnier side of the plot has fewer sprouts than the shadier side. I'm using the product in the video, and I only watered once or twice. The fog did the rest.

Is it okay if I don't cover the seeds with soil when sowing?
@westvalley4118 ай бұрын
yes, nothing is perfectly flat, so wind and such will let them wedge into the right place, they will figure it out...

Do the gophers like them? I scattered some on a steep hillside but now I’m afraid it’ll attract gophers and create erosion issue.
@CBlargh4 ай бұрын
I think bare soil is always going to erode more than a hill with anything growing on it. I've got Renee's poppies on my hill right now and they're doing great so far.
