Many people are complaining that Dr. Dray gave no "real" tips or products for curing short/ spares/etc eyelashes... and yet, the tip was to simply: do nothing. And yet, that hasn't been explicitly stated in the beauty community by such a large REPUTABLE "influencer"/ source. It more reflects on our capitalist mindset of harmful products constantly being shoved down our throats. So, Dr. Dray: thank YOU for being level-minded, and honest with your views. She could have EASILY promoted a shitty eyelash product (like Etude house eyelash serum, lol) and made thousands of dollars. Yet, she didn't. We NEED more people like Dr. Dray in our community talking about serious subject matters like skin health (or in this case, hair healthy) to be more transparent, objective, and factually based. So again, Thank you!

2llkjsf100 Their complaints are valid because the title of her video misleads one to think she is going to share tips on "How to Grow Lashes". It would be more accurate or less misleading to title it "What won't cause lash growth" or something like that. Hopefully, you get the gist of what myself and many others are trying to say. I get why so many Influencers use "catchy" title phrases to draw in viewers but I don't appreciate it because it ends up wasting my time. With that said, I do agree that Dr. Dray shares honest reviews and information from science based evidence.

@@kohakuhunter I like the "leftover makeup" or "lived-in liner" look like when you only removed the top layer of makeup, and your eyes are still a little stained with what looks like a smudged liner over the top and lower lash line. You can best recreate that with a soft base in the crease + taupe creamy shadow blended from very close to the lash line (as matte as possible but there is usually a little shine to cream shadow) , it brings a soft definition. See the video I posted called "Lived-In Liner Tutorial with Celebrity Makeup Artist Tobi Henney", the makeup artist uses a smudged creamy pen liner but you can do that with any creamy eyeshadow (or even a powder one but not as easy to work with). In my case, I skip mascara. Looks more "lived-in".

Its genetics my husband has longer eyelashes than I do and he gets it from his mother. I don't have a lot of body hair and never have to shave more than a couple times a year. I try to only wear mascara when I go out for a special event. My hair is down to my waist and very strong, but no matter what Ive done my entire life I will never have naturally long eyelashes and I'm okay with that.

Since I am not wearing as much makeup these days I wanted my light eyelashes to pop more. I got a lash lift and tint. Horrible decision! My lashes were fried and went in all kinds of directions, the lady tinted one eye way more than the other one. They were darker so without mascara they looked ok from a distance, but with mascara it was horrible!! I have waited 3 months for my lashes to finally look almost normal. NEVER AGAIN!

I think I'm going to start using it again. I seldom use mascara, only for dressing up, as I want to protect them as long as possible I'm 73 years old Meanwhile, I have good eyebrows, so I rely on them to accent my eyes..

I have a thyroid problem; I have a hypothyroid condition and Hashimoto. I have significant hair loss on my head, eyebrows, eyelashes. I have been treated for the thyroid condition with Synthroid. Taking thyroid medication has done absolutely nothing for my hair loss. The hair loss has continued to get worse and the medication has done nothing to stop the hair loss. What I found in talking to women with low or high thyroid hormones is that they have a hair loss problem, as well. The medication makes your numbers look good on a blood test; but, it does nothing for the hair loss effect of thyroid problems. Also, for me and others the medication does not help the symptoms of a low or high thyroid hormone problem; such as, fatigue, feeling cold or hot, dry skin, hoarseness, muscle weakness and irritability. A very frustrating and debilitating problem.

I have had lash extensions once, and I experienced a strong reaction to the glue with lobster red eyes until I got the expensions removed. The paradox was that I got the extensions because I was going to my friend's Iraqi wedding, where everyone is dressed to the nines and super glam. I had to go to said wedding with super red eyes, and explain to everyone I met that I had an adverse reaction to the lash glue. It was quite a learning experience for me, and in hindsight, quite funny. I am never messing with my eyes (or eyelashes again).

As a child and through my teens I spent much of my time at my my great Aunts in Germany and we had a large garden & orchard. We used no pesticides and I seldom had colds or flu. Getting back to the eyes. I do use Jamaican black Castor oil and the Ordinary Peptide Lash Serum. I do think my lashes are healthier a bit thicker and longer.

I use castor oil on my lashes and brows before bed, I am not sure it makes them grow but it does keep them conditioned. I’ve been doing this for years. Initially It got into my eyes until I learned what a minuscule amount is needed. I literally use less than a drop for both brows and both eyes. If you want to try again use the tiniest amount you can get on the tip of your little finger.
@greenknitter3 жыл бұрын
@@paulachristie7807 Same. Mine don't fall out as often applying it nightly. I also use a tiny spoolie to apply it to my lashes so it doesn't get in my eyes. Application from mid-length to tips, never at the roots. It works its way there naturally while we sleep.

I started applying a small amount of castor oil to my lids as it's helpful for dry eye and is even used in hydrating eye drops. Tho it stings if it gets in my eyes. I'm astonished that my short sparse lashes are growing. So I started applying it to my brows and those are also growing! They're not crazy long, but to the point I need to apply a little less brow makeup. I scoffed at ppl saying it grew their lashes, but I can't argue with my own results 🙃

Hi Dr Dray, my lash aren't the longest/thickest and I accept that. Even using growth serums, results aren't permanent so not worth it for me. Had some good results in the past with jojoba oil, but not too keen on using oils around the eyes and don't think are very safe if they go inside. I spoke to my eye doctor about Latisse and completely refused to prescribe such a serious medicament just for growing lashes. I really respect him, eyes health come first.

If you put minoxidil from men’s hair regrow like rogain on your EYEBROWS somehow it also causes your lashes to grow as well. She promotes minoxidil for hair growth JUST NOT ON LASHES. Putting it on eyebrows will cause eyebrow and eyelash hair to both grow.
@EstiSara3 жыл бұрын
I agree with most of this, however you can't put all lash serums under the same umbrella. They aren't all like latisse and they don't all cause side effects. The one I use is water based and causes no discoloration, soreness, dryness, stinging, burning or otherwise and its about $10 per unit but I agree about not using anything that causes those side effects you mentioned.

I have a very sensitive eye area and allergies which means mascara is very unpractical except if it's water proof. But water proof makes the removal even more irritating. Classic eye makeup was the first thing i stopped using out of convenience and I substitute it with light glittery very transparent eyeshadows and eye pigments and highlighters. They are just as beautiful but much less irritating to wear and take off. And you still look glamourous and maybe even more youthful that way. Oh and my lashed grew thinker after I stopped using mascara of course, because I'm not ripping them out my accident with tools or makeup removers.
