about 12 inches should be fine. Transplanting to another pot im assuming? If in the ground, do it in the spring

When do you take the lid off and leave it off?

i prefer to take the lid off once the first true leaves emerge. Now it can grow on its own and germination is over.

I always take the skin off my citrus seeds before I plant them. According to google it takes 3 to 6 years fror a key lime tree from seed to fruit, and according to Allen at Queen Creek Tropicals here on KZbin it only takes 2 to3 years for at least some citrus to give fruit from seed, the one he was showing and telling about was tangelo. Supposedly most citrus will grow true to/from seed but not all. Have you gotten any fruit from any of your trees grown from seed from store bought fruit? Thanks

you can even take off the hard shell to make it germinate faster. try it!
