in heard strawberry cough tends to foxtail due to the long flowering. I have popped a few nitro lemon hazes that always foxtail. indoor and outdoor

I believe the advantages of long flowering sativas is the Delta content. 16-21 week sativas are generally more trippy high. I & other actually compare them to a mushroom micro dose

With sativas cultivars you need to be brutal on the light/dark ratio when you flip to flowering. Do a solid week of only 6-8 hours of light as a flip and you can negate some of the stretching it does.

As a true lover of cannabis ive got many extremely great sativas which i love and honestly enjoy some of the sativa landrace which take longer i also enjoy the flavors on them more generally. Also if growing a new variety its a test run period and dont be too heavy handed with feed most are lighter feeders. One thing that sucks with sativas is there not as well worked with bc of flowering times people shyed away from them so indica and the hybrids have dominated the market if sativas where as heavily hunt for the same 50yr or so the indicas are more consistent in finish time pheno type ect its one thing i started to do is hunting sativa dominate genetics i think we will find new compounds ect in these.

Just grew some runtz x mint testers from hsc took 80ish days to flower but was worth it. Went in not knowing any flower time, would’ve trained down and out more if I knew how long they were gonna take and how much they were gonna stretch. You also should try and have enough backup weed if you want to run some long flowering stuff.

Try Squirrel tail #4, they flower for 154 - 168 days (outdoor) 80 days, that's only half that time... 🤷🏻‍♂️

I grow in high density on a medical license indoors, for instance with 9-12 plants per one of my 4x4 780w LED lights but many people expecially outdoors love big plants that just can't achieve the quality of a controlled indoor grow. Energy, yield and quality are the 3 most important results for growers.

Good topic guys. I once grew Golden Tiger from Ace seeds. I knew it was gonna go 12-13 weeks, and happily threw it in w some other 9-10 weekers. I learned my lesson when i harvested those plants, and waited forever for this 6ft monster to finish. After 13.5 weeks still wasnt done, and i axed her. Smoke wasnt super potent, but i had tons. I will run a sativa only tent in the future, flipping after 2 weeks or so.💚

there are a lot of strains they are so unique and have all in all a real outstanding resultthat they are definitely worth it! thats what i would say, you can´t get every possible flavoure or tast in 8 to 9 weeks. i am sure a lot of the oldschool flavours are gone because of the shorter flowering time ow...what would you say to my therorie?

Perfect timing for me on this video, thanks fellas, I have a Pink Jade Sativa going right now and she's slow to flower, but it is looking great, got some pink and purple color coming in nice, I was wondering if it was the extreme humidity in my area causing the slow bud growth, damn near 100%, it's straight damp. That being said this plant has a very lanky and tall Sativa structure, Stretched way more than I was expecting and I'm only growing one plant at a time as a home hobby grow, just enough to fill a jar and be happy with top quality smoke to enjoy, I have to keep it on the low where I live, but it's nice to always have a lil tree to look forward to. I'll def be heavier on the training on the next one after seeing how this one shot up.

Last grow I had a Fruit Slap freebie that literally stretched 4-5x. It was so bad I had the Kosher Kush sitting in the same tent raised with a 5gal bucket. Thank god I flipped exactly 4weeks from sprouting, if she grew 1 more inch I would a had to chop off the tops

As an experiment I ran a small Caps cut Mac1 19 weeks or 2 full cycles in flowering because of the Colombian in it. I just tossed it off to the side when I flipped the room but the only thing i noticed different was it turned completely purple from neon green the trichomes really didnt change in color or size and it tasted the same.

I love my long strains I drug one out over 6 months in flower before turned out heavy as hell lol if you grow in more then one tent or area what’s it hurt to have a one or a couple long flower strains and have other areas for shorter stuff.then again I’m a huge thin leaf Landrace fan that’s overall all I do just made my own cut of an East Indian with a vietnam landrace and an auto flower

From what I’ve found sativas will tend to yield heavier so that can set off some of the issues from the longer flowering times. The real problem is how horrendous most will end up looking in the bag, nobody wants a bag of shwag.

Currently growing Ethos Mandarin Zkittlez second time growing this exact cut off my mother plant. This will easily stretch 4 times it’s height in first 3 weeks of flower. 9week flowering time (for my preference). But I’ve never seen a hybrid with indica looking traits that grew short time indica times but stretched like a pure sativa.

to add to the topic; try it before grow it. i am glad I dont like most pure sativas and their effects. The longest I would go with a hybrid is 10 weeks. just to mention few that I like: Jack Herrer, apple fritter, straberry cough , and sour d. I haven`t grow any of those but I like those cultivars.

Heard advice on the long flowering varietals to flip to flower with only 1-2 weeks veg time. Just grew my first tentful of sativas and next time I am going to try mainlining and a double scrog net. Plus only 2 plants for my 5'x5'.

I got an Amnesia Haze autoflower from CKS, at week 7.5, i was checking Trichromes, and noticed most of the pistils still were white. Then i remembered, it's a haze strain, so another 2-3 weeks. Which is fine, kinda works better. Cause i haven't planted any beans yet. Good episode guys.

When you're so used to growing autos, ofcourse photos are gonna feel like it takes forever. Finished a mendocino cherry pie auto in the time my strawberry photos haven't even hit flower yet. 2 of my strawberry plants are like half a year old and they are just switching into flower stage now, I expect my plants to finish by Semptember/October 11-12+ weeks from now. A ICC clone I bought recently boomed in growth but isn't as full with foliage as it is a younger plant and may finish around the same time as my Strawberrys. If I have to, I'll let my plants flower as long as they need. I'm in no rush. Quality takes time.

I'm growing Buddha Tahoe at the moment outdoor (southern hemisphere). She's mainly indica, BUT I flipped her late into winter. Thinking she will flip quick, but took her two to three weeks to start up properly. Seeing the flower was taking so long I checked the profile on suppliers site and they indicate a 10 week flower - so now I'm late into winter (the cold is starting to hit hard) and still have another week or two left... it makes the planning abit hard and the timing is completely wrong IMO

I have a haze 4 dayz from brother bone going and i flipped at about 10inches tall and this thing is about 7ft tall! 4 weeks in 12/12 with barely any hairs starting. It says it will take 16-20 weeks, now i just gotta ride it out

Yeah I'm not trying to be in flowering over 10 weeks. But when I'm growing, I'm trying to grow Something that leans more indica. The only thing that Wasn't was the purple ghost candy. I still have some of those. The only time that I did over 10 weeks in flowering Is when growing bag seeds.But you have to get her done. I'm always trying to do quicker flowering. But no autos. Rob, are you saying THC same for both indica and sativa and other counpounds are just synergistic or antagonistic for the cultivar ( lol, language changes with common usage), Sativa does have higher conc of THC analogues such as THCV and others not found indicas to messurable degrees! I agree that some of these "strains" they represent as sativa are greatly disapointing these days! Having Grown sativas since 80's I would say that magority of stuff they sell these days is CBD hemp so yes not worth extra flower time!! however if you have a real power plant sativa it is definitely worth it. The bus is day and night different from what you will get from the majority of Indica hybrids out there.! however, I have not seen the seeds in 20 years

I’m kind of hearing from you Chris, where you are staying to feed to the end of the lifecycle of the plant, and the other guys are saying maybe stop feeding a couple weeks before harvest, and maybe flush! I’m doing what I heard from your Utah scientist about feed till the end and flushing is useless? But my weed does seem to burn darker? But not necessarily hot!

Kalifa will start his sativas at 12/12 from bean to keep short! KOS recomends at least 55 days veg for plant to reach full potency. What I do sometimes is clone about 20 and run 12/12 so they have age/ developement of mother but start flowering foot tall and only get 5ft tall then! J? Mystery Genetics

A lot of folks In my area live the wud leaf buzz I don’t personally but I like to make everyone happy I currently got some Sri Lankan thin leaf Malawi gold freakshow fruity pebbles magnum auto Black Death purple Thai stealth fighter vietnam black and bear dance going and started germing the seeds from crossing the east India pure landrace my uncle gave me with the vietnam black and bear dance auto those seeds are very nice looking and I look forward to working those genes

Definitely put in equatorials waaaaay smaller than others. Thats the big mistake many people make. Yea, its gonna gonna keep growing crazy like 3-4 weeks into 12/12. so,.. ya oput them in much smaller. i used to grow a 16 weeker and i would put it into flower at like 18 inches and it would be a 5 foot plant easy.

I got a supposed Bruce Banner. Said she should bloom in 10 weeks. Well its week 11 and its almost there. She still has all white hairs and the callyxes are just now swelling. Probably be a 13 weeker. On my 16th week now. Grew Photo's from RQS and KNEW they were long flowering, BUT WTH? It was MY fault. First time grower. My kitchen and bathroom lights pointed DIRECTLY at the plants during the night. 4 days ago, out with my Dog I saw the lights. Turned them off and BAMB my plants have Buds already. No wonder one of them Hermied.

Rainwater lasts about a week before contamination. If disinfected I think 6 to 12 months.
