I just wanted to say, I bought a pair of your Luxy extensions months ago, and EVERY TIME I wear them, I get SO many compliments, and I feel guilty taking the compliment without saying, "It's actually extensions!" And then they are always shocked, and come check it out cause they can't believe it's not real. I just want to thank you ladies for them! I used to have the most amazing long hair, and I think because I have an iron deficiency, I broke off so much of it over a period of months. The extensions are giving me life again while I grow it back out! :) Love you, Mimi!

Once the hair grows out of the scalp it is just a bunch of strains of dead cells of protein, much like your nails (in that case - plates of protein). There are no nerves or capillaries or any kind of living tissue in there for the end of your strand to signal your root to grow more hair: - That's why shaving doesn't make beards thicker, but what it does is it makes all the strands grow out from the same starting point, making the grown hair more even and thus looking thicker. It is the same with a haircut: when you have hair thinned out (from breakage due to small or big amounts of damage), getting a clean line cut will instantly make it seem more thick. But the thing is it already was, it was just appearing thin because the strands were all different lengths, with less longer ones towards the ends (contrary to the beard example, or a bob hairstyle, for example). - That's exactly why it is impossible to "cure" your damaged hair with masks and conditioning treatments. There are deep conditioning treatments like keratin ones, but those just make keratin proteins stick onto the outside of the strand, making it smoother and silkier, but this effect washes out after a certain amount of time, depending on how damaged your hair already is before treatment. Maybe I should open a YT channel and debunk all these crazy things like onion/cinnamon/mayo/honey masks and start making a buck man

I comb my hair upside down for 4 min I repeat the process 3 or 4 times a week and most of the time I do it before shower using some natural hair oils that help growth I message the roots area . I use coconut oil, coaster oil and olive oil. It grew up my hair longer and healthier

I'm in no way disagreeing with this great video, but I thought I'd share some of my experience with the tips she has said. My hair is 36 inches, past my butt, very soft and naturally thin. I trim my hair once every six months and when I do it's barely an inch. Of course I have split ends, everybody does, but if you take care of your hair well you won't have too many to begin with. I also wash my hair everyday. My skin overproduces oil and sweat everywhere, so even when I did "train my hair" for five months only washing it every other day, it was still very oily and I reverted back to everyday wash. My hair is not dry, it's very silky and soft because I mosturize it very well. You can wash your hair everyday and still have beautiful, healthy hair. (Beware of Sulfates, though) Just thought I'd debunk these a bit :)

Hi beautiful Mimi!! For me, what really helps my hair grow healthier and shinier is combing it from the scalp to the ends (it has to be dry) every night before I go to bed. That gives a nice massage to the scalp and also helps to get rid of all the dust that gets in your hair during the day. I hope it helps!!

Ok great tips but your hair doesn't think it's wounded... there are no nerve endings in your hair. It doesn't know if it's short or long or freshly cut or whatever. Lol.

Helpful tips. Really need my hair to grow longer. I always cut more than an inch off my hair. After watching this, it helped me to know what I need to do to have longer hair.
@Sabrina-sx9fl10 жыл бұрын
The tips, especially the hazelnut butter one, were really good! :) But one is not correct, if you cut/trim your hair, it won´t grow faster! Hair is growing from the roots/scalp and if you just cut off a bit of your ends or many inches, it won´t affect the hair growth, because hair is dead material. But if you don´t cut your hair when you have split ends, then your hair is going to break and it will seem like it´s not growing, but it is! It´s just always breaking and the same length because of the split.

@vaidehiraghavan6 жыл бұрын
Max, yes I have used castor oil for eyelashes, eyebrows. They grow faster. But the problem is its very sticky/viscous. So, you have to wash your face or take shower if you apply it on hair. Actually, you can even pour a drop in your eyes and it will clear out all the dirt in the eyes. In India, they use it for menstrual cramps too. Eyelashes will grow longer. People should try it. Make sure buy a real one from Asian markets. I have seen unoriginal ones in US Grocery stores. It will be thick and highly viscous. BTW, your English is way better than some people. Europeans are quite modest, I should say.

hair does not feel anything "it doesn't feel wounded and grows." Getting trims prevent further splitting of the hair. take care of the roots ladies and watch what you eat.

I find that using an oil on the hair and letting it marinate a while before a shower always works for me, plus there's a ton out there that its easy to find one that really works. I personally like red oil, made for hair. Its got a plethora of oils that lather the hair in awesomeness :) Inversion method isn't so bad, helps with the blood flow to the follicles. Sulfate and paraben free shampoos and conditioners rock, or even just using a leave in after shampooing works great.

trims DO NOT make your hair grow faster!In 2015 I got trims every 2 months from February to October just to see if it worked but didn't.My hair stayed the same length until January 2016 that I did a hair mask with egg,honey and olive oil every month and last year my hair was 21 inches(curly/wavy)but is 24 inches(curly/wavy)!!!!! What it helped my hair grow faster was DEEP CONDITIONING with natural hair masks. So trims are just if u have split ends which is your hair giving itself a haircut which will make your hair grow slowly.I'm not a hairstlylist or an expert btw,I'm just a 12 year old giving advice

Trims are a waste of money your hair grows from the top so the bottom can be in whatever state it wants to be
@itssimplymariah10 жыл бұрын
They are basically a waste of money if you have healthy hair, but if you don't other than split ends will keep getting bigger and you'll have to cut more of it if you delay it, it will not be very nice and neat and the ends bring the oxygen to the scalp.

I love these tips! But please don't misinform your viewers by saying that being vegan or vegetarian means that you lack iron... Many meat and dairy eaters lack iron actually. Vegans, Vegetarians and Raw Vegans often get enough iron because they eat more plant based foods... I was disappointed that you thought that was how it worked! :(
@LuxyHair10 жыл бұрын
Dear Maya, most vegan and vegetarians I have met, do not necesseraly eat a well balanced diet that supplies enough iron. It's a bit responsibility and that's why I wanted to bring up this point.

Iron is in a lot of red meats, fish, and other animal products. I also have a sibling who’s had to take iron supplements since he became vegetarian.
@vaidehiraghavan6 жыл бұрын
All/most carnivores eat/hunt herbivores as they are tasty I guess. Iron is abundant in lentils and there so many varieties of them. Unfortunately meat eaters don't know about it or how to cook them. FDA in US also ignorant of vegetarian food. Guess what, with their meat agenda, US is No 1 be it cancer or stroke or heart related problems. Not to forget about obesity. If all meat eaters cut their meat intake by a quarter, it will save billions of dollars in health care costs, people physical health will also improve and above all, will be doing service to the animals and planet. Without some form of health care, most Americans will not even cross 60-65 years. In many other developing countries, people( who eat a good amount of plant food) hardly go to doctor and still live to 65-70.

Hey Mimi, where is the link for the Hazel nut butter? Also washing your hair once a week is not gross. I wash my hair once every two weeks because my curls are tight tight tight which means my hair can be very dry if I don't put Coconut oil on it. If I wash it too soon that takes out the very needed moisture from the oil I put on & it takes time for the oil to penetrate my tight curls. So if I wash my hair once a week it will dry out & that is still too often for my curls.
@jasminemehami281210 жыл бұрын
hey even i have curly hairs.. but u should wash it alternate days.. apply oil before u wash.. then serum after ur wash.. dont even comb ur curls.. thy will become freezy.. keep ur hairs open nd in one side while u sleep.. u will get possum soft curls.. trust me i get it.. :P
@sasham734410 жыл бұрын
I love you but trimming your hair doesn't "make it think it's wounded" and cause it to grow faster. Hair is not a living thing, it is already dead so you can't wound it. By trimming the ends you can't communicate with the hair follicle causing more rapid growth...you can however prevent further damage with trims.
@lilithinferno10 жыл бұрын
I do an apple cider vinegar rinse (1 vinegar: 3 water) once in two weeks to remove product build up that also helps the hair to breathe and grow. On normal shower days I do a peppermint chamomile tea rinse to make the hair shiny and close the hair cuticles that prevents the hair from breakage. I heat up water put fresh peppermint and the chamomile tea bags in and wait for it to cool.

mine is falling out really bad! I am a boy trying to grow my hair but my hair is faling out more than before when on Biotin. I think it gets rid of the weak hair and then the shedding stops so it can grow healthy for then on :)

No, the supplement isn't doing anything good to ur hair. Biotin supplements r chemicals-not the natural thing. And most peoples hair dont work with that. And btw those supplements have side effects.

Biotin gave me cystic acne 😫 and it's too bad because my hair was growing like crazy. But the acne wasn't worth it. Ouch.

Spinach (and kale) has the vitamins mentioned in the video, and personally I found eating organic eggs a few times a week has dramatically decreased my hair loss and increased hair production. I noticed this after 6 months.

@MaliMakeupMinnie1410 жыл бұрын
parrotlet power another mask which I make myself is with; avocado, egg and honey. This promotes hair growth and really hydrates your hair for that glossy and shiny look. It is a bit nasty haha but well well worth it. I call it hair food :D

can't wait until my hair is hip length!! ive been growing it out for 2 years already but ive mostly just had to cut off a lot of it because the ends are so damaged!! hopefully itll get there eventually!
@peeblestem7 жыл бұрын
everyone's like "ugh your hair is damaged" whilst she clearly stated in past videos that she has FRIZZY hair. know what that means? i'm still amazed at how good she's able to treat it coz it looks smooth, beautiful and silky.

I use coconut oil to keep my hair soft and healthy looking. I put the warmed (never hot) oil on my hair and scalp once a week, let it sit for at least half an hour, then shampoo out. Granted, I have to let the shampoo sit on there for a couple of minutes so it gets enough of the oil out so my hair doesn't still look greasy after, but it works great. Don't know if that helps it grow, but it looks really nice. Also helps tame the frizz. For me, anyway.

Mimi, I constantly have split ends and I don't know what to do! I get trims every 2 1/2 months, I wash my hair every 3-4 days and haven't used heat in 5 months. I haven't touched a pool in 7 months and got a filter in my shower. I take supplements that were recommended by my stylist. My hair barely grows too. I eat all the recommended amounts of food daily and drink more than enough water. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong! My hair is just out of control and I don't know what to do!

well my mother...granny...and all have been teeling "almonds" best for hair growth...well we can just wash the almonds and soak them in water...keeping it overnight and then eat regularly in the morning...also should take 1 glass of milk after that as almonds generate heat in the body...and...and mimi am great fan ....thank you dear...love you

I also take 10,000 Mcgs of Biotin, you can find the veggie gel caps at Walmart + Walmart also has straight Keratin vitamins...these two supplements worked before to grow my hair fast! And yes, weekly coconut oil treatments too.

Great tips! I'd personally say it's important to deep condition your hair weekly with either a deep conditioning treatment or by just using coconut oil.
@anciiie10 жыл бұрын
massaging your scalp also really helps. put a little oil (any hair oil or even just olive oil) on your hands and massage it into your scalp for 5 minutes with your head upside down. do that for a week every day then take a break for a few weeks, then repeat again. your hair will be really oily for that week, but bear with it (just put it in a bun or something), because it really works

I have been using coconut oil for the last year it makes a huge difference in the softness of my hair, my hair is curly and fine so it tends to get dry fast this helps me keep it moisturized.

I experimented a bunch of different ways to grow hair faster too. Biotin breaks me out so that's out. What I find that works for me are: 1) Biosil and Super Collagen + C supplement (big difference!) 2) Wash with Jason Thin To Thick shampoo 3) Adding a bit of castor oil every time I shampoo my hair 4) No heat 5) Drink lots of water.
