I tried growing moss years ago without much success. You make it look easy. Love your videos! You should start talking. It's easier to watch and listen than to watch and read.

Seachem flourish glue will work on wet wood and plants n cures fast and u can put it in water still wet,that's wat u want safe for shrimp snails n Bettas r all fine put it in like 20min after use my favorite aquarium plant glue
@taylorromstadt36093 ай бұрын
U can also use sewing thread if u have any around

I'm not too sure how this method will work for aquascapping - but once I get my hands on Christmas moss I will definitely give it a try

what should i do if it has appeared mold on the wood? how can i avoid it for the next time?
@forestfloorterrariums10 ай бұрын
You can target clean the mold with either white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide (use a Qtip). It might take a few rounds of cleaning but eventually the mold will stop coming back To avoid it, you can buy wood from aquarium shops because the wood is treated commercially or you just need to properly sterrilize the sticks before use - there's multiple methods of doing this
@naimsalah0610 ай бұрын
@@forestfloorterrariums the video you have in your channel is a good option to sterilize wood, right?
@stancexpunks8 ай бұрын
@@naimsalah06 of course it’s a good option, otherwise he wouldn’t have made the video lol? But if you have the moss/wood piece in an enclosure like a terrarium, you can add springtails and other similar critters that act as a ‘clean up crew’ eating up decaying matter which will help to keep mold at bay.

It looks like you moved away from the bleach serialization tech for the wood. any reason for this? Thanks for the great video! nice to see another upload so recent :)
@forestfloorterrariums10 ай бұрын
I've been trying out different methods - this method and also using hydrogen peroxide are also acceptable. I think I might make a video showcasing all the different methods. The bleach method works for small pieces but vinegar tends to soak deeper which is why I wanted to try it out.
@FPVivid10 ай бұрын
@@forestfloorterrariums Very interesting! I would have thought the bleach to have been the most penetrating of the group. That's a nice idea, I look forward to it!

After they grow well, can they survive without sealed container?
@forestfloorterrariums6 ай бұрын
This depends on your surrounding environment. If you live in a tropical/humid area then yes. If you live in a semi-arid area then I wouldn't suggest it

@@forestfloorterrariums thank you for taking the time to reply. Your explanation is very helpful, I really want to make it like you did but I doubt the moss will last.

What kind of moss and wood is that?

Moss is in the Tortula family and the wood is driftwood

Does this work on any type of bark and moss combination? And is the lid necessary? Great video!
@forestfloorterrariums6 ай бұрын
I'm pretty sure you can grow on many types of wood/bark. You might struggle with smoother texture wood or wood that has a waxy feel. The lid is only necessary to increase humidity - you need around 70% humidity for moss
