How to Grow Thyme - Cuttings, Culinary uses & Landscaping Benefits

Paulo talks about why he loves growing Thyme so much in the garden.
Generally if you want to know how to grow thyme it’s because you want to use it for cooking. However Thyme has many great other great uses as a landscaping plant. Thyme can make a fantastic ground cover and perfect for dry or Mediterranean planting schemes.
Paulo has seen amazing examples of thyme roofs and dry stone walls full of this amazing herb. This drought tolerance makes them perfect for green roofs and vertical gardens. Above all growing Thyme is perfect for the kitchen with is great taste and medicinal benefits. Thyme is also a great pollinator plant attracting many bees!
This herb generally can put up with shallow poor soils and difficult growing conditions. Paulo generally thinks you should get out there and grow some!

Good advice. Are you in England? (Going on your accent 🤷‍♀️) I'm in Scotland and not sure if I should grow thyme in a pot or in the ground? What do you think?

hey Nicki,, I think it will be fine in the ground as long as its full sun and not in very damp soil!!! What's the weather like up there? I'm in Buckinghamshire not too far from London ;-)
