Strip the boards....take the copper & alumimum out... The motherboards sell as is, just remove the cpu chips and other boards...You are doing it correctly...Keep it up...

Thank you for the comment...TH ecomputer boards and such are gold plated...But that is still gold...The older the computer (i.e) 386 486) the more gold you will get...Also servers have a large amount

Palladium is small looking rectangular grey with silver on the side. Hard drives have aluminum, some nickel, platinum, palladium, gold. These are the one I can think of from the top of my head...

I need to find a place in Baltimore where I can take my stuff. I get plenty of computers from the local schools when they decide to upgrade. One school had about 100 computers just sitting in the trash area.

he said when he first got into computer scraping the industry tried telling him the pins are only plated with gold, and after he said he found out it was the other way around, mostly gold with a bit of other metal.

That socket 462 was an AMD board. I knew it when I saw it! Socket 462 (also called Socket A) is a PGA socket designed for AMD K7 family of processors. Not Intel Pentium

Hey mike new subscriber here, I was watching your videos and I've been scrapping with my dad for a couple years now. (I'm 15 yrs old) and I was wondering, when taking apart computers and such is there a way to tell if a part is solid gold or just gold plated (maybe without scratching it) thanks and by the way GREAT VIDEOS

When I looked at these boards, there is copper and aluminum pieces. Is it best to keep the boards complete or should these pieces be removed? I have removed copper and aluminum from low grade and mid grade boards and have avoided the mother boards. I'm I making a Mistake? Thanks again for your great vids.

0:33 Lol that explains why I never had any luck buying used computer parts before, they almost never worked and were shipped to me in a grocery bag all smashed up. Computer parts should never be stored in large bins and be tossed like that Its really bad for them If they even work anymore after that. They should be stored individually in anti static bags and boxed to prevent capacitors and chips from being bent and chipped during storage.
