The widespread use of social media platforms like instagram and snapchat, which are primarily photo-based apps, doesn’t help the cause at all. This was such a great video. I’ve struggled a lot with insecurity about my looks and comparison. This all makes sense and I can’t wait to start imagining people as skeletons Kudos for keeping it real-and you’re right that the boost good looking people get isn’t negligible but it is more superficial than people want to believe. Those who are successful and good looking are usually also intelligent and savvy and while looks may have opened some opportunities they made their own success from there. There is also a benefit to being average or below-when you do find someone who wants to be with you, you can know it’s because of something deeper. My beautiful friends often confide in me that they feel insecure in friendships and relationships because they worry the person only associates with them because of their looks and doesn’t appreciate them for who they are. Also I think overfocusing on looks helps people stay in a victim mentality and can give them an excuse for not working or trying hard to make the life they want for themselves. If someone has big insecurities about their looks it is really they who are placing too much value in looks, not others-something I need to realize myself! Really great messages!

Thanks Shridhar! This is such an important topic... One point I would like to add, many times we think some aspect of us is not beautiful e.g. skin colour. But in reality many others would be loving our skin colour! Why would the white skinned want to tan and the darker skinned what to get fairer!

Not always!! I do accept my looks, but i hav been rejected continuously just for my brown complexion!!.. When it comes to relationship, will hav to depend on others opinion sadly!! Still sick people are there who prioritise the color & status!!

Your artitude should be changed first

True.. but i don't agree few! Am a brown gal and really witty & jovial! In school days i was so attracted by all bcos of my jokes & comments rather than my looks! Problem is some Ugly looking person who holds a position of power can be filled with extreme inferiority complex and can make life difficult for someone who is better looking and their subordinate, especially of the same gender.... and it's also v commonplace that In indian corporate co.s ,, men in position feel weak when there is a young hot chick is involved and many a times these gals will materialise these weaknesses to the max in their favour and get away with average performance
