I bumped into my narcissistic ex by my gate, three years after she dumped me by text. She said hello and Happy New Year (this was in January). I said Happy New Year and carried on walking without looking back. At around midnight, that same day, she sent me a text message. She said it was a surprise to see me after such a long time and that she'd heard from a mutual friend how happy I am with my new partner (I am), and that she was really glad things are going well for me. She said she wanted to say that she was sorry if she disconnected in a way that may have seemed callous at the time, BUT, that she was trying to do what she thought was right at the time. She said she wished all good things for me. To the inexperienced eye, that may seem like quite a nice message. I don't see it like that. I noticed two glaring errors that jumped out at me. First she said she was sorry if it "seemed" like she was callous. She WAS extremely callous, at the end, and throughout our relationship. It was a way of her saying that "I" may have thought she was callous, but not that she was. Secondly, she followed the apology with a "but". An apology with a "but" is not an apology. Narcs never knowingly apologise and never take responsibility for their behaviour. I promptly deleted her message and blocked her number. I'm only glad I have fully recovered from our toxic relationship and am now in a very loving and kind partnership. Phew!

Your videos came at the right time. Thank you again for your amazing insight and experience. Lots of universal love to you. The remote abuse had begun and I have been on a dark place. Multiple nightmares re-enacting the trauma she caused. Except in my dreams sometime it was her, other time it was someone I don't know

If you first have to get out of the pattern of responding promptly, that change of habit can be harder to do than it sounds. It doesn’t have to be perfect to make a difference.

may i say... your only wrong advice to talk and ask questions.....do not talk to them,!!! dont ask them why,dont ask them to explain- you are wasting your time- block them and never communicate again- narcs love the back and forth- even if you make a valid point-they dont care, they also love getting you mad,just as much as anything- you are being used!

Yes, I’m watching this video not because I’m considering getting back with him but because I want to respond in a way that won’t cause him to harm me. I was very disappointed in this advice.

When you have kids with a narcissist, and she asks a question about the kids to initiate conversation, is there a way to focus on the questions so you don’t get hoovered?
@SoulGPS Жыл бұрын
Only focus on the practical topics related to kids and keep it brief and dry. If you find yourself being pulled into a drama vortex, just pull out. Stop engaging or explaining. Hope it helps.

Very disappointed in the advice to “keep asking questions.” I suspect most women are here because they want to respond to the love bombing texts in a way that will make it stop and not cause the guy to harm them, get them fired, ruin their new relationship… not because they’re considering getting back together with the narcissist!!

Block and delete is the best strategy, otherwise grey rock 🪨🌸🌸
