Great video. Exact same plasterboard situation I'm dealing with so was very useful.

For the purpose of overcoming localization effects, are 'wall plugs' what we call 'anchors' in the U.S.? Also, is 'dry lining' or 'plasterboard' the same as what we call 'dry wall'? Good video!

Correct

We actually call wall plugs "Rawl Plugs" or at least we Boomers do.

Great video. Have you a link to the curtain pole and brackets that were used, please?

Sorry, I bought them too long ago, possibly from dunelm

Thank you! Really clear:)

I know it's been a while since you fitted this but can you remember where you bought it from as the only place in my town that sells curtain poles are the wooden type or with the fixings like you removed

I'm confused - I thought you was putting MDF board up, but never saw you attach that to the wall? And as a novice DIYER I'm more confused than ever. You said at first do not use masonry drill bits in plasterboard but then did that, I think??

How do you know those wall plugs are not good quality? I think they all look the same.

I would have filled the old holes with Polyfilla and sanded them before putting new brackets up.
@savannahglebe5165 Жыл бұрын
He more than likely would have but the videos not about that.

@Savannah Glebe maybe but the video is aimed at noobs who might not think of that.

@Savannah Glebe thanks for the debate on holes and Polyfilla. I will think it through this evening over a glass of wine or two 🍷 🍷

How come you don't use studs in the walls and go straight into a wood fixing ?
@JBTV2 жыл бұрын
Mainly because it's dot and dab plasterboard, meaning there are no studs. Plus, if there were studs, it would be very unlikely that they'd be in the right place.
@AlanEddie2 жыл бұрын
@@JBTV ah ok very sensible. Thanks for reply. I had to use metal cavity anchors due to weight of curtain.

It is not level to the ceiling it is horizontal to the ceiling if the ceiling is not level.

Good video. But those self drilling fixings are utter garage. I wouldn't go near them personally
@Sean0063 жыл бұрын
Do NOT use the metal DRIVA plasterboard fixings....they are rubbish and do NOT work. Avoid at all costs. I'm not sure about the other fixing he used, I have no experience of those.

So you drew a line and drilled 4 holes... and it took 30 minutes?
