I always mark half of what the gutter length on the back of the gutter, and mark the drip edge line it up. Saves a little time on hanging it

And I wonder how installers pitch a really long run in 2 directions when there are downspouts at both ends. Seems like it would leave a flat area in the middle for water to pool.
@ehnwurdsae-urce37814 ай бұрын
@@steadyeddie7453 you want the middle all the way up and the sides lower because the effects of earths gravity still apply to water thats in gutters.

There are additional tools you can buy "third arm" will allow you to set one end in the device leaving you with a manageable end to deal with instead of trying to balance it centered up. In a pinch on a single story you can always use a second step ladder to hold one end. Marking drip and gutter is a good practice as mentioned above, enjoy your videos man keep up the good work.

Did you charge extra for having to shear off the existing gutter. I’ve never seen a k-style gutter that the back of the gutter goes under the shingles. Some times the roofers will nail the gutter up high before putting new drip edge on 😡. That’s when I take a flat bar to it. It’s a real pain. Keep up the good work bud.
@onegutterguy5602 жыл бұрын
Yeah I Definitely had to charge more because of having to shear it. It's on jobs like this that I wish I did more new construction work 😆

It's a pain in the dick with those long nails. Sometimes the damage is unreal. I just started doing gutters and I know I have tore some fascia up before learning about shearing.

If by yourself doing a long corner to corner or a endcap to endcap with no end roof eve you should mark both the flashing and gutter so that you only have to put it up one time and if you ever need to adjust it's better and quicker to do from the roof after the down spouts are in cuz they can act as a support for both ends giving you less weight to hold up.
@onegutterguy5602 жыл бұрын
Definitely I've marked the back of the gutter and gutter apron before to line it up, and it Definitely works. In this case the piece had a custom cut inside miter on the right so right when it's clicked in the right place it's lined up right. Outside miters are a little easier for sure. Thanks for the feed back

What gauge metal are you using? I got good deal on an 80s gutter machine years ago, (recently stolen), to add to my handyman services and never was able to hang without atleast a couple helpers.

The best way is to go on roof pull the drip edge out just a little pull a mark at the middle lets say 40ft long so i would pull mark 20ft then i mark 20' 1/2" line up your marks and perfect every time. If there is an inside miter you don't have to pull a mark. If there is an outside miter you have to pull mark from your outside corner to center. I cut miters with hacksaw its quicker.

Any tips on how to handel a 60' + gutter by yourself?
@onegutterguy5602 жыл бұрын
You can slide a 25' scrap piece under the middle of it while you carry and hang it to support your ends. Put a tack in the middle, tack both sides move back to the middle take out the tack and slide out the scrap piece. It does add more weight so your arms might be burning but it won't roll. Hope this helps!

@One Gutter Guy any way you can demonstrate this on like a smaller piece. I can't visualize what you mean by sliding a scrap piece. I'm getting into installing gutter and my only real problem is handling a 60ft gutter

There a tool u can buy to assist you putting up gutters, it’s called an employee lol, u just go buy one everytime you have a long gutter to put up, so you don’t roll the gutter 😂, you can normaly find one at your local Home Depot, standing out front looking for a job😂😂😂
