Yes Phillip - your method worked for me after I tapped & tapped & tapped and never saw that worker android. Now my phone is set to be re-sold and all my contacts and messages are hopefully wiped out.

@leonard payton. you have to hold down the volume button down and power button that download mode comes out when you press the volume up button. It is a little tricky but you will get it.

You just have to hold down the volume down button and power button at the same time wait and in small white letters the factory reset should come up, then click the power button twice and vuala hope this helps.. :)

@johnyboy6412 you cannot go into settings and reset you phone if the phone locked you out. This is a hard reset for when you forget your code or pattern

This process is different depending on your firmware version. Firmware version C is different than D and F. Button combination isn't even close to being the same. Go to Settings - About Phone - Version. Whatever letter ends that, c d e f, is your firmware version

if this didnt work all you have to do is press the power button and the volume down button. you cant hold the volume up button or it wont work. when the message pops up you let go. and press the power button. then press it again to confirm and that all.
