By far, one of the clearest/detailed tutorial yet but still not too uptight. Keep it up!

I've been really struggling to change from the old style - feet next to each other - start. Tried the standing on one foot whilst bending over (at home) and immediately felt the difference in that my weight was over my front foot rather than mostly on the rear foot. I hope I can do it the same way when stood on the blocks.

One question I have always had about starts, which you didn't address or answer, is the water entry angle. You would need underwater camera to show this. You can't do a 'least resistance' type of entry like you want off of the diving board, mostly I suspect because that would put you too deep in the water. It appears that you need a little arch in your back/body to help keep you from going too deep. I am really old school from the days when they started you in the shallow end of the pool, and you were supposed to 'slap' the water and start swimming right away. Curious too in that it doesn't look like you use arms at all to pull or throw out in front like you do for a vertical leap test???

Is a 24.39 a decent time for a 14 year old?
@lumpychairz76906 жыл бұрын
I believe so. I am 13 and I have a 28.56 but one of my friends who is 14 has a 25.32. I am not sure how the competition is because that is high school level and I am only in middle school.
