This is great content. The more time I spend meditating the more I'm coming to realize that everything is a part of the process. The "undesirable" states like anxiety, dissatisfaction, impatience, craving, lust, are objects for investigation themselves. When the human sexual drive is denied it inevitably creates problems, whether that's sexual abuse scandals in religious organizations or the ego attachment & magical thinking of NoFap. The "sex question" is one of the deepest ones to unpack because it comes with so much conditioning, memory, & shame. Thank you guys for investigating it with honesty

For one thing, the odds of your coming across somebody with the kind of experience to understand your perspective aren’t gonna be really high although if you’re someone like Frank, you probably come across a greater number of the individuals like that.

I don't know if you will read this or not, but I wanted to tell you anyway: I still remember watching your OG fitness videos with Hodgetwins and Kali muscle, or the plyo box jumps, or the BBC dildo deep squats, or the creatine snorting, or playing the violin for Vivian. Wow it almost feels like a lifetime ago... Then about 7 years ago I watched your video about your first Vipassana meditation silent retreat. Back then I was struggling with a severe eating disorder and exercise addiction. I thought to myself 'that looks so incredibly fascinating, I am SO curious to try that one day, but NO WAY I would be able to deal with the anxiety and fear of not being able to move around and eat the few 'healthy' foods I felt safe eating in the comfort of my own house. I was so afraid to sit still for ten days straight. Then about 6 years later I finally found the courage to sign up and go sit for ten days in the retreat center near Mexico City. It was you who inspired me to go. I thank you for that. I found it to be an excruciatingly painful experience, and I didn't enjoy it at all. I realised I don't really resonate with the very strict and rigid approach of Goenka,. Intuitively I felt there was more to be discovered by going deep into the heart, into love, into movement, sensuality and intuition. Even though there were also many important lessons I learned going through the Vipassana experience. The fact that I was able to overcome my fear and neuroticism regarding exercise was one of them. So in that sense, the experience really changed my life. Unfortunately after that I lost connection to your content for a while, as it became too complex and abstract for me to really understand and embody, and I experienced it as a more 'mind-oriented' or 'conceptional' approach. One year later however I was extremely excited to discover you had started to move towards a more heartcentered direction as well, especially after you mentioned the Hridaya retreat you went to not too long ago. It felt as if I could reconnect again with an old friend who taught me so many valuable lessons in life. This video touched me deeply and consequently inspired me to share this story with you. I feel that there is so much truth in dropping into the heart, in exploring the infinite universe through relationship and having conscious, slow, embodied sex, in connecting deeply with another human being, but I've struggled with trusting my own intuitive 'wisdom' through years and years of negative conditioning (what I feel is 'wrong' or 'too much'). I was always afraid that my intuition is somehow 'wrong' or rooted in 'ego'. It feels really nice to get 'validated' in that deeply intuitive feeling/knowing by someone I 'admire' (you), even through I recognize that it ultimately doesn't matter whatsoever, still I felt like letting you know. So once again, thank you for sharing your wisdom and creative energy. You've been with me for over 17 years and your journey has had a very significant impact on my personal development. I'm looking forward to continue to learn from you, Fronk!

Hey Fronk, been a long-time lurker. I hardly leave comments but I felt compelled to. I've also been meditating regularly since going to a Vipassana retreat 12 years ago. I just finished watching a summary of Nietzsche's Will to Power, after which I had a strong urge to rewatch "Frank Yang trains legs with Frank Yang" from 10 years ago. When I did, I felt something click into place - the idea of life being a continual process of aiming, struggling, and overcoming. And I understood the importance of embracing this frictious process. After this insight, I had a newfound appreciation of your creative journey, and you making these videos to share your truth with others. It compelled me to live more authentically and speak my truth more openly. Just wanted to share. Take care and keep walking your path brother!

Your video edit is really cool. i just wanted to share that sex has very little to do with spiritual attainment and sending your ejaculation upwards through the centers is a very bad idea. None of the genuine ancient esoteric teachings actually recommend this and the ones that do came from palaces that royals were using to try to find an easy way to reach enlightenment. bringing your base desires and sending the upwards is a recipe for disaster and not correct. Please kindly research more into it Frank before recommending it to 165k people.

Frank, I really do appreciate you making these videos. But I have to admit that after watching this my predominant emotion is sadness. I had often read about the effects of awakening on relationships: Many people lose their sex drives, lose any desire for romance, and often divorce their partners upon awakening. Your video seems to somewhat support this idea--the tantric sex you describe seems beautiful from some angles, but angles that don't seem related or relevant to any concepts of relationships or romance or love among unawakened humans. This seems to suggest that almost everything we value about relationships is an illusion, or some kind of obstruction. This updates me towards thinking that A). The dynamics of relationships, both positive and negative, are entirely besides the point and ultimately rendered irrelevant and unnecessary by awakening, and B). that possibly their only value is imaginary anyway. I can't argue with that because I know you and others have seen much farther than I could. But it is saddening nonetheless to think that this thing that I have valued and wanted, and which has its positive and meaningful aspects from my unenlightened viewpoint, is ultimately meaningless and something that would be dropped if I were ever to pursue awakening.
@YamylythFarias2 ай бұрын
My thoughts exactly
@Shazbut01912 ай бұрын
Hiya. I awakened a decade ago so might be able to provide some useful input. It's true, you do lose your sex drive, but you don't lose the sexual function. However because deep conditioning remains long after awakening (remnants of desire and projection) sex still plays a part in life and the relationship you have to it necessarily becomes one of allowing it to expose the remaining conditioning. It's not always emotionally pleasurable. It can be deeply painful, but it can also be deeply satisfying, intimate, validating, and empowering. It remains part of your life. Relationships ARE an illusion. Romantic love IS a lie, but it's possible to engage in it knowingly and happily without feeling like you're betraying yourself, because it's an expression of your remaining conditioning. That's the whole notion of tantra: to enter into illusion in order to explore it. That only really works though when it's known to be illusion. One first needs the nondual recognition otherwise it's just sense indulgence. When people get in spirituality in a big way, they are typically very restrictive (no sex! no pleasure!) because their spirit feels tainted by everything to do with being a body, but as they progress, they are able to embrace their remaining conditioning and work through it, whilst never confusing it with what they are. This isn't compromise, it's maturity. Unless you can use a knife to cut yourself to pieces without suffering in the slightest, you will remain conditioned. That's not a problem and it doesn't prevent you from feeling free and life from being enjoyable. So don't worry. Interpersonal relationships continue. They drop into the deepest level of consciousness that both partners can match. If you've dropped deeper, your partner will be invited to meet you there. Relative love continues, even as it's simultaneously known to be illusory. It's no obstruction.

@LC-gx1ub2 ай бұрын
The capital Love could be spiritual; with no attachments, no possessions, no expectations, no cravings. Only giving, radiating. The usual mundane love is still beautiful and romantic, but it often comes with the possesiveness, with lust. It even has the potential to take space, instead of giving it, opening it. It usually comes from the ego. It feels like it completes you. And that's why you like it. Fundamentally, it's about you. Spiritual Love can not complete you, as you are already complete. It can expand you, it can dissolve you
